Approximation [ex-Black Flag] album and tour news

and tells us about Approximation releasing their first album in a vinyl-only, limited edition format from Dot Zero Release Records. The band's new album, produced by Alex Newport [The Locust, At The Drive-In] features ex-Black Flag bassist Kira on bass and vocals. Approximation is described as "underground rock but turned on its ear with influences ranging from DC hardcore and acid rock to jazz and blues."

The band is currently out on the road touring, wrapping up in Chicago to record a second album with Steve Albini on the boards at his famed Electrical Studios. Kira is not touring with the group and will not play on the new album. Click READ MORE for the band's remaining dates.

The mp3's on the site are really good......looks like Kira has alot of fire left in her and their main vocalist is great too......I'll be checking these guys out.

after the supposed black flag crap in hollywood, why would anyone even give a runny fart about a crappy ass band and a guest member? what next, the rip off dead kennedys have yet another singer? go babble about all of your usual major label biased supposed punk rock bullshit as usual bands. they are your bread and butter. p.s. fat mike is a millionaire from idiots like you. feel better now?

what the hell? do u even read what u write? that made absolutely no sense at all.....this has nothing to do with Black Flag other than Kira being i it. You should get your ass beat for saying something so pathetically off topic.

i wasn't the dude posting first but wouldn't you think a post with the headline "Approximation [ex-Black Flag] album and tour news" and a fuckng black flag logo next to it had something to do with black flag?

Yeah......but this news actually has VERY little to do with Black Flag.....actually.....the only thing it has to do with Black Flag is Kira...who has been in a series of bands since and before Black Flag......this band sounds great...but why the Flag news logo? I think we need a Rollins news logo too, maybe the sun tatt or something.

Yup, Im glad fat mikes a milionaire, better him than some asshole like the president. He worked hard doing what he loved. But if he doesnt fit your idea of what punk rock is then fine. But seriously can you find any fault with fatmike other than most fat bands sounding the same?

"...a guest member?" "major label biased supposed punk rock bullshit " In reference to above quotes from interesting post Kira played bass on every song and sang backups on the first record(self-released) and she'll be on the next one as well.

She's on the LP they just put out. She won't be on their new record they're recording with Steve Albini. -Scott

Kira played bass and sang back-up on the first record (Alex newport) and for the second(Steve Albini) she will be on bass, singing backup and some lead vocals.

Kira is not in the band and never was. The drummer is awsome. The bass player will be in a famous band someday. The singer sux ass! poor kurt cobain rip off
