There's been some coverage of the PunkVoter press conference at the recent Democratic caucus in Iowa. You can read a report from Rolling Stone and a more negative view from KnightRidder Newspapers. Members of the MC5, Anti-Flag, Rise Against and Faith No More were on hand. PunkVoter's Scott Goldstein told Rolling Stone "Politicians didn't walk away from us, they actually sought us out... [Dennis] Kucinich and [Howard] Dean spent time with us, as did the [John] Edwards folks. We were the only guys in there with red mohawks, and probably the only ones under the age of thirty."

Knightridder is some of the most idiotic journalism I have ever seen. I swear they can never write a completely unbiased piece. 1+ Reply

Yeah that knight rider article was just plain stupid. The comment abouyt Woodrow Wilson made no sense, especialy since he was a liberal(by the standards of the time period) and progressive persident. So, what the fuck are they talking about? 4+ Replies

i live in des moines. no one gives a shit about punkvoter, and they give less of a shit about the caucuses, because all it means for iowans is every four years politicians act like they give a shit about us before packing up after the 21st, and they do nothing before the 21st but telemarket their bullshit (i own a business and i still get calls from those fuckers), picket lawns with litter, clog downtown traffic with dumb chants, and take up space and money better spent on the "people" they say they want to help instead of John Kerry having 4 different des moines offices. Also, they tip badly when ordering pizzas. wyzo 4+ Replies

Knightridder are jerks. Big biased jerks. Like the snobby rich high school bully. Spread the word that they're mean and they will crumble. Viva la revolution!

Responding to the post about Fat Mike's reasons for PunkVoter, I agree that even if he is getting his agenda out, at least he is doing something.
However, at the same time, NOFX has turned into a political agenda- The War On Errorism, the constant political commenting- I appreciate that Fat Mike wants to help people get out there and vote, but I hope somebody can come out and admit that Punk Voter is incredibly biased- look, I hate George W. Bush. But I can't honestly think that we should force that opinion on others, and I think Punk Voter.com is just teaching kids who have no idea what their voting for to not vote for George W. Bush.
I don't support GWB. Not by a long shot. I hate the guy. But that doesn't mean I don't think that people should have the right to support his views. I'm smart enough to want to vote on my own, and I appreciate the fact that there ar show rest of comment 2+ Replies

SCHEISSE. sorry about the caps lock. i hope Fat Mike gets his shit together and makes the tour a success, and hopefully maybe spark some mtv interest. if he does that, liberals might have a better chance. thats the point of this whole thing. go fat, i love fat, brah! 1+ Reply
