Billboard is also reporting that major label pop-punks The Ataris will be releasing Live At The Metro, a 19-song live disc recorded mainly last October at Chicago's Metro.
The first 12 songs are taken from that performance, whereas the remainder of disc are all acoustic tracks, the hightlight of which being an acoustic cover of Elvis Costello's "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding." The disc will be in stores February 10th via Columbia Records. Click READ MORE for the album's tracklisting. "Live at the Metro" track list: "Unopened Letter to the World" "1/15/96" "IOU One Galaxy" "So Long, Astoria" "Between You & Me" "Your Boyfriend Sucks" "Song #13" "All You Can Ever Learn Is What You Already Know" "Someday" "The Saddest Song" "The Boys of Summer" "Astro Zombies" "1/15/96" (acoustic) "My Hotel Year" (acoustic) "The Hero Dies in This One" (acoustic) "Fast Times at Drop-Out High" (acoustic) "A New England" (acoustic) "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding" (acoustic) "San Dimas High School Football Rules" (acoustic) Sony Music Entertainment (59 comments)

I would have bought this, except I saw that Boys of Summer was on this. I don't care for that song Sam I AM

"(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding" isn't an Elvis Costello cover. He covered it, it's by Nick Lowe originally. -MorphineSandwich 3+ Replies

Why they heck are they not playing anything off of "Anywhere but Here." Still their best CD, and by the looks of it, always will be. 1+ Reply

whenever these guys do an acoustic track, it sounds like it was recorded with the band in a bathroom, and the mics in a different room.. listen to San Dimas off of Let it Burn.. same with the extra track on the re-issue of Anywhere But Here.. I wonder if this stuff will be any different.. --- 2+ Replies

Haha, is that post above me supposed to be an ass? Like, you're mooning the Ataris? Ah, good times. Oh yeah, and Unopened Letter is maybe the dumbest song in the history of mankind.

the real question is how much drugs did the ataris have to give planes mistaken for stars to open for them on their tours? you wuld think a band like planes would never go on tour with a band like the ataris, so i think there was some defnite bribes with lots of drugs involved. 2+ Replies

The Ataris are a good band, good live and good songwriters, but I'm old enough to remember when "Boys of Summer" was all over MTV and it SUCKED then and still sucks even when a good band like the Ataris cover it. I just hope that doesn't end up being their biggest song. Good to see that "1/15/96" made the album though ("Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits" is still my favorite Ataris album). 2+ Replies
