Dates for the first ever Punkvoter Tour, featuring NOFX, Alkaline Trio, Jello Biafra, and Authority Zero, have been announced. The tour focuses mainly on the West Coast and Southwest.

no no east coast, no buffalo dates. NOFX is to lazy to go east of vegas, cuz you know its not the like the majority of the country and voters live east of nevada.... I love NOFX, but they are proving themselves to be a bunch of frauds, you think if they actually cared about the election - if they had a message they would try and bring it to more then 1/10 of the states.. I don't think they'll be doing the Punkvoter tour much, if at all on the east coast.....but they don't really need to. May I remind you that the Warped Tour is coming up and Punkvoter is using that to promote it's stuff as well. So why would they really need to come here with Punkvoter(although I think it'd be pretty cool to see Jello and Pennywise, because Jello is my favorite single artist, and Pennywise is one of my favorite bands)?

True, but California is a *very* important state to win if you want to be the president. It makes sense to play a lot of shows there, as generally whichever candidate takes California ends up winning. -Scott

wrong. read some history or statistics. In the last 100 years, the only state to always vote for the winning president is Ohio. They even got it right when the courts decided last time. California, thanks to time zones, votes last. This means in almost every memorable race, their votes didn't count, the winner already had enough votes, and with fast reporting and projections on the big media, most Californians know this by the time they get up. This means most historically don't vote. Also, California recently has been a democrat won state. They have just elected a Republican governor, but you could argue this is a special case, and means nothing about California voting for Bush. This tour only hitting West Coast means it will have little effect. If it wanted effect, it should tour states like Ohio and Florida, swing states that voted for that fucking idiot Bush last time. Me

This tour should be boycotted based on the fact that they find it more necessary to go to fucking Eugene, OR than anywhere on the east coast. And what a way to encourage voters: every individual vote counts, but thousands of you aren't good enough to see this show.

Jello (in my opinion), is quite possibly the largest hack around for all the right reasons. Regardless, he's still a hack. (Note: The Dead Kennedys are a great band, with great songs.) Can you imagine how much this tour will slay at the Metro? At HOB, it'll just be good. hey this was good stuff, but where are the actual facts to back it up? The problem with both the right and the left is that both sides are quick to jump on things they beleive could be right... I like how conservatives (not necessarily you)will say that France and Germany didn't want to go to war because of oil (which is probably true), but will flip out when anyone even suggests that oil was a consideration in the decision to go to war. yes, but if he were to truly be representative, he would list all the positive things Bush has done. I also think the long list above is full of some true statements, some exagerrated statements, and many wrong. Some of the things that stick out in Bush's campaign, that he did right. -Millions of dollars to Africa to fight aids. -Helped to rebuild Iraq and gave millions a chance to live without fear of being beaten or murdered. -Has the balls to stand up for marriage - Everyone was happy with the stem cell descision he made back in 2001 (i think it was 2001) - Tax breaks for ALL Americans, finally something fair. - Has helped our country get past 9/11 and God knows how many attacks we have avoided. I would assume you guys are smart enough to see that they are playing the liberal states FIRST because they will be hitting up the Bush/Swing states later in the year. PunkVoter is supposed to be a NATION WIDE TOUR. Let's not forget how many bands are on this comp they're putting out. Something tells me that they will be grabbing some much bigger bands for the more important states where a few thousands votes actually matter! So stop complaining about a lack of East Coast or some shit like that. They'll be there soon enough, but probably around September or October. Playing bigger shows with more prominent bands at that. Not that Alk3 and NOFX aren't huge... And I like Authority Zero so... yeah.

Exactly Authority Zero puts on one hell of a show, and when the tour was first planned they had said that Green Day and the Offspring had comitted. Plus the East Coast is traditionally more republican than WA, CA, OR, etc. so it makes more sense to do them early, and then do the East Coast closer to the election. It's All Planning.

Of course everyone in the scene "knows" to vote against Bush, but how many of you ACTUALLY GO OUT AND VOTE? Probably not many. That is why they are doing this tour, to try and get kids to go out and actually vote. I would be suprised to see them waste their time on the mostly Democratic Northeast...I'm sure they will be adding more dates for the southern states. I applaud Fat Mike for trying to make a change. If every kid who goes to these shows actually votes, it could make a huge difference in the election.

Initially he said there would be two to three legs of this tour, so I am sure they will hit the east coast at some point. Probably in June, because I thought I read somewhere they are going to do a show during the republican convention in NYC...
