The Explosion releasing new EP

The Explosion are releasing yet another EP prior to their next full length, due later this year on Virgin / Tarantulas Records. There's a mini-site setup for the Red Tape EP that streams the song "Here I Am." No word on when the EP will be available.

Hmm... I love the Explosion but this seems like the most poppy, polished song I've heard from them. I'm really curious what direction this full length's going to go in. -adam

Definitely a turn for the poppy-ish, however, chances are i will still buy it the day it comes out. Maybe Matt's vocals in some of the other songs sound a bit more like they do in the bridge of Here i am (ie. a bit rougher). Doubt it, but hey.. stranger things have happened. .dc

They're releasing an ep because they haven't released anything in a while. It said it was on Tarantulas/Virgin.

umm....Only one think to say...What the fuck happened lol? I want more songs like Terrorist or God bless the SOS. And what happened to his voice? This is way too cleaned up to be the explosion.

Decent song but the production on Matts vox is definitely a bit too slick.

This song definitely sucks. I can see it getting played on Top 40, which kinda hurts. The Explosion are one of the best live bands I've ever seen though.

the only key difference is Flash Flash Flash and Sick of Modern Art BLOW the first two major Suicide Machines releases out of the water Barkley

Speaking of bands sounding different, if I may...what's with the new Stiff Little Fingers song? Where's that rough voice? Did they get a new singer or something? It was like...almost a pop song. I'm really disappointed.

that distorted backup part right before the chorus is so fucking annoying...thats definitely a major label influence

this wouldn't be so bad if all the vocals didn't sound so overproduced...I mean it still sounds like the Explosion I guess. but it sounds like they were going for the "we want our song played on the radio right after Autopilot Off' sound

Fuse isn't radio. Anyone can get played on Fuse. Autopilot off are a terrible reference for a "major label punk band" and shows how irrelevent your opinion is.

Found this last night checking out various bands' websites. Yeah it sounds pretty poppy but I don't really mind it. I agree with Adam, I am keen to hear what direction the full length goes in now.

The Explosion is my fav. band and I have to say this is some crappy shit, almost as bad as Bombshell Rocks, and that sucks.

I fucking love the Explosion and this song kicks ass. Yeah its a little different but thats what bands do, change. It's fucking great and I would be happy as a lark if the whole album was like this. I have every Explosion album and they are all good but even Sick of Modern Art and Self Titled are pretty different. This song really isn't much different from their sound or style.
