Artists with releases on this label:

Gearhead Records exploded out of the gate in April 2000 and has since released some of the best punk n roll and punk around. Growing out of Gearhead Magazine, the world‚??s first punk rock / hot rod magazine, the label has mirrored the editorial content of quality, diversity and style. There‚??s something here for almost everybody, from Detroit-style rock n‚?? roll to new wave power-pop, from melodic punk to instrumentals‚?¶ all killer ‚?? no filler!

Owners Michelle Haunold and Mike LaVella have over 40 years of music industry experience between them. They‚??ve done almost everything you can do in the underground, from playing in bands (Mike was in the infamous hardcore band Half Life) to DJ-ing (Michelle dj‚??d in college at KBVR, for Maximum Rock n Roll and more recently for UC Davis, CA station KDVS). Both have worked at record stores and for distributors, done concert promotion, booking and been music journalists (they met while writing for Maximum Rock n Roll in the 80s!).

Gearhead has expanded to include a full line of apparel, including a girl line, baby clothes (Lil‚?? Gearhead) and accessories. Besides the on-going production of the magazine (issue #12 has just been released) there is a 24/7 internet radio station and of course, the never-ending quest for the most kick-ass rock and punk they can find. Having had success with The Hives, The Hellacopters, New Bomb Turks and more recently, The Rock n Roll Soldiers, Million Dollar Marxists and Riverboat Gamblers, Gearhead Records is THEE tastemaker rock and punk label.
