About:

"In 1994 the idea to release a record from a local hardcore band by a outgoing college freshman turned into a small punk, hardcore, and and ska mailorder and distro. Two years later, the addition of a partner that not only balanced that outgoing freshman's sometimes unchecked ego and arrogance, also provided more financial and fiscal capabilities. Jump Start's first release was a 7" from Montreal, Canada's Planet Smashers which was released in September of 1996.

Six years later some things have changed, somethings haven't. Thirty-six plus releases later the label is certainly stronger than ever and from our tiny start we now boast a roster of active bands, the majority of which tour and perform an average of 150 shows a year. Simply not a local or regional label, our roster also includes bands from across North America and Europe."
