I waited in line for a while. I wasn’t sure when the show started, so I just showed up. There was a decent sized crowd, but it didn’t look sold out to me. To pass the time, I watched BK and friends play a game of what looked like whiffle ball in a neighboring baseball field. Looked like it beat the crap out of standing in line and getting felt up by the security guards. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
guess i dont like good music then The reason noone has said Bk "sucks ass" is because that is simply not true. I saw this concert a week ago in slc but without convoy and with morning jacket, and it was one of my favorite shows of all time. Bk is a amazing musician and entertainer. People should stop comparing him to piebald, people should start saying if you like good music, you'll like Ben Kweller Why hasnt anybody mentioned that Ben Kweller sucks ass! I really really tried to like it. I heard so many good things about him. I heard, oh you like piebald, you will like ben kweller, i heard ben kweller is a pop-rock prodigy and is so amazing and kicks so much ass and blah blah blah. But then when I listened to it all I could hear was a cheap pop-rock band playing bad pop-rock songs. I couldnt get away from it faster.-pat41 i think you were right in front of me in line Sheena, but Im not positive hence me not saying anything. I've only heard on Ben Kweller song... his single (the one about how sex reminds her of eating spaghetti)... and I have to say it is probabaly the stupidest song I've ever heard, and it makes me want to pull my own hair out and strangle him with it. Except I have really short hair so it wouldn't work very well. thumbs down I was at this show and I have to say I had a different reaction. First, I thought the crowd was pretty into Ben Kweller. If you noticed the entire crowd switched after him and before Convoy. An entirely new audience entered the venue as the Ben Kweller fans were leaving. Also, he probably wasn't headlining because Convoy is so popular in San Diego, but he played a very strong set. Pony League was not anything to recommend though. Their songs were predictable and much of their lyrics were really lame. For a guy with only one radio hit and one cd, Ben Kweller's crowd was very receptive and it is true the show was not sold out, but the crowd that was there thorougly enjoyoed it. |
