Sleater-KinneySleater-Kinney: Dig Me Out Dig Me Out (1997)Kill Rock Stars Reviewer Rating: 4.5 Contributed by: elliotelliot (others by this writer | submit your own) All it took was my older, much cooler cousin talking about this all-girl punk band called Sleater-Kinney, and how he thought they were taking an unnecessary amount of criticism due to their gender, and I was hooked. All it took was my older, much cooler cousin talking about this all-girl punk band called Sleater-Kinney, and how he thought they were taking an unnecessary amount of criticism due to their gender, and I was hooked. A pathetic, sexually frustrated 16-year old like myself was naturally drawn to any girl who exhibited the same tendencies as me, so I knew I needed to track this band down. Surprisingly, I found a copy of Dig Me Out at my local library, so I snapped it up for free and took it back to my basement room where I played it loud (but not loud enough that my parents got mad at me, because I was a respectful son). Most brilliant all-female band in rock history This is probably sleater Kinney most defining album and with the inclusion of Janet weis is the three piece which will be remembered. Before they were always a band with potential, here they master it. I disagree with the reviewer that this is an album with lows. Of course there will always be lows relatively, but from here on out I feel that sleater Kinney haven't written a bad song and have only shown greatness. Like the reviewer said sleater Kinney is a band where people can argue which album is their best. My favorite album is the hot rock and while my least favorite of this trios albums came after, I feel that they have always proven to be a better band with each album release. I can't think of of band with a better catalougue than sleater kinney. Dance song 97, dig me out, one more hour, little babies, jenny, there is so much good stuff ont here. Dig Me Out The Kink Kontroversy = best combo of albums wherein one rips off the album art of another |

The whole point is that you don't have to narrow it down to all-female. They are one of the best bands ever period. Aren't they? What's standing in your way from saying that? They are one of the greatest bands ever. What a fucking output they have. Best guitarist, Brownstein, and best drummer, Weiss, probably ever put together.
