The usual background info… Curlupanddie hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. The band formed in 1998. They’re a young band in the hardcore scene, and Unfortunately We’re Not Robots is their first full length release.

What can I say about Curlupanddie – Unfortunately We’re Not Robots? Two words come to mind… “Beautiful Insanity”. Curlupanddie’s new LP is like 5 shots of moonshine in your morning coffee or tea. Is it metal? Is it hardcore? It doesn’t matter. What matters is that this CD rocks. I had the pleasure of seeing Curlupanddie live opening for Taken in Lockport NY and this CD is like a sneak preview to the insanity that awaits you at their next stop in your hometown. Unfortunately We’re Not Robots is the rage that some of us keep hidden, released in 15 tracks of absolute furry. The pinnacle track on the CD, “Dr. Doom, A Man Of Science, Doesn’t Believe In Jesus, Why The Fuck Do You” seems to embody everything that many of find wrong with the world. For those listeners new to Hardcore, Unfortunately We’re Not Robots has a powerful explosive sound similar to The Dillinger Escape Plan, only with a level of organization and precision that echoes the message “there is method to this madness”. Midway through the CD, “You’d Be Cuter If I Shot You In The Face” seems to jump out at the listener. This positively chilling track touched me, its an 8 minute ballad with an eerie and sad sound that embodies the true emotional pain that seems to drive many hardcore bands.

In conclusion this is an excellent CD that shows a lot of promise for Curlupanddie. I will be waiting anxiously for their next release, or another chance to see this amazing band live.

This album is a lot like some other bands I've been listening to as of late in that they're like driving. It takes a little of time to get used to it, but once you've got it down, it's a joy. A very...interesting album, not long enough though, especially with the four 5 second openers and track 5 cclocking in at 28 seconds.

sick vocals. i can see scott's point of view, but what kind of other vocals could fit that band? oh yeha...i heard someone from converge help on this record.

or maybe he just doesn't like singers voice, as mentioned in his statement

shut up you bitch. you don't like it because it's not heart on sleeve, breakup sissy rock. you fucking elitest.

I think they'd be great with a different singer. As they are, I can't stand the vocals, and therefore have no interest in the band.
