The ShakeDowns are a rock and roll band with plenty of punk energy. They
somehow manage to sound simultaneously hedonistic and honest, which is quite a
feat considering their material. There's a love of bare-bones rock and roll that
fills their songs with big riffs, proud solos and lyrical swagger. With lyrics
about chasing women and stories from the bar, the ShakeDowns display the a kind
of self-confidence that puts them pretty close to Danko Jones in terms of style
and attitude.

That was at Record Time in roseville MI right?? how was it?? glad you liked them (now buy the damned cd) Ive never heard of this band till yesterday, i walked into a record store here in detroit and heard a band playing inside, it was the shakedowns. they were amazing, despite the 5 people that were there and listening. fun stuff/ The first time I saw the Shakedowns live, i was completly blown away. Since then I havn't been able to get enough of them. This is a really good cd from a band that just comtinues to impress me. oh man, the shakedowns are one of the few bands that have the balls to ask "are you a rocker or not" and get away with it. this is rock 'n' roll, not some pouncy art students playing dress up. see them live if you can, they will not dissapoint |
