On Friday September 13, 2002 in Orlando Florida at the Social, Glasseater, From Autumn To Ashes and The Suicide Machines made their presence felt in Central Florida.

Glasseater was up first. I had seen them once before on the Strung Out tour and I wasn't too impressed with them from what I saw. This show was different though. At the Strung Out show they didn't have their full lineup and were having problems so that was what did it last time but this time they were a whole lot better. I guess all they needed was a permanent drummer. Sounds logical right? Glasseater impressed me this time around and I wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Next up was the hXc emo/screamo/whatever band From Autumn To Ashes. This band does what they do well. I guess that's pretty much all I can say. Lately it seems a whole bunch of bands are going "screamcore" or whatever you want to call it. FATA just seems like one of those dime a dozen bands coming out lately but still, they do it really well. I knew one FATA song but during their set I couldn't really tell when a song ended and when the next one began. Don't get me wrong I think FATA is good but nothing really all that special. Although most of the crowd would seem to disagree. Their songs must mean something to people which kicks ass for them. The biggest dude in the crowd was screaming the words and crying during two of the songs. During the last song the lead singer broke down into tears and a whole lot of the crowd went on to the stage. I found myself up on the stage when some big dude just grabbed me and yanked me up. I felt lost and out of place but more power to everyone else.

Small Brown Bike was supposed to be on this tour but they dropped the day of this show or something like that. SBB was another band that I have really no knowledge of so in a way that was good that I didn't have to sit through another band I didn't know to wait for The Suicide Machines. When some people found out that SBB wasn't at the show they just left. They missed out in my opinion. TSM tore it up. Just like the last time I saw them. Playing a set with mostly "Destruction By Definition" with a few "Battle Hymns" and a couple from the self titled and "Steal This Record." People can say what they want about TSM about how they've "sold out" whatever. Their live shows speak for themselves. Every song was a crowd sing along. I had the mic in my face on a whole bunch of the songs. People were getting up on stage skankin up a storm, singin, jumpin off just havin some fun. TSM is a fun band and very appreciative of their fans that have stuck with them. It shows whenever they perform.

All in all, this was 12 bucks well spent and I suggest that if this tour comes near you to go check it out.

    My Score:

I saw this tour when it was in Philly and it was the best show I've been to in a while. I've wanted to see Glasseater for sometime, Small Brown Bike was quite good, From Autumn to Ashes was decent buy not my fav and Suicide Machines were rockin'. The Suicide Machines were obviously the highlight but it was an all around good show.

    fata = you & i rip-off.

and if you've never heard of you & i they're pretty much the band that started that whole metal/emo/hardcore sound.

oh and I think the reviewer failed to mention that the new suicide machines bassist looks like a Southern Rock version of Carrot Top

You missed out not seeing Small Brown Bike. They're definitely the best band on that tour. Suicide Machines are amazing as well. I saw them like 3 years ago with Less than Jake. That was a great show. I would have gone to the show at Fletcher's butmy dumbass forgot about it.

    My Score:

From Autumn To Ashes are just downright amazing, and with songs like "Short Stories With Tragic Endings" i can see why people cry, it is almost unbearable how much emotion is behind that song, but it does lose effect live due to the fact that the girl is not there to sing the last 4 minutes of the song. Other than that FATA are not just a dime a dozen band, far from it in fact....

I used to love Suicide Machines. I guess I just grew out of them, but they're fun to listen to/see now and again. Destruction by Definition was one of the first punk CDs I ever bought, so it will always have a place in my heart. FATA is, in my opinion, really really bad. Their hardcore parts are boring, their melodic parts are laughable, and they can't effectively combine the two parts. Their songs don't flow, they sound painfully disjointed. And their set at Krazy Fest was a joke. Haven't heard enough Glasseater to comment on them.

I don't think The Suicide Machines really sold out......Their just getting older, and we all know how old people do dumb shit.....This explains the last 2 albums.....

You can make a push for Destruction by Definition as being one of the best ska/punk cd's ever.

Poison The Well, FATA, Shai Hulud etc... the bands are good at what they do but it seems like alot more bands are doing this style. Oh yeah I mentioned that the Suicide Machines were the only band I knew so of course I'm gonna boast more about them...oh well. Keep em comin!

I think FATA are amazing. yeah metal, but so what? it's passionate, it's original and it's hardcore - what more could you want?

incidently, who are these other screamcore bands that are a dime a dozen these days?

    My Score:

FATA is better than Glasseater. Glasseater now sounds like everything else. Small Brown Bike is better than both of them. Your review sucked, it basically sounded like you just wanted to tell everyone how good the suicide machines were.

    My Score:

all the crap about people crying during fata's set is down right embarrassing. everything about that band sucks. if i was the singer i'd never step on stage again if i cried. that big dude you mentioned should lose some weight instead of crying. why do people listen to shitty music???

The Suicide Machines are fucking incredible everytime I see them play live. Their crowd interaction is awesome and they play the hell out of their DBD songs. If you haven't seen them yet, I'd highly encourage you do, even if you're not a fan of some of the newer stuff. Always a fucking good time and in my mind, what a punk show should be....
