This album is by far their best work yet. It proves that, no matter what kind of "scene" you're into, rock'n'roll is and always will be the only credible genre out there.

I don't know if the advisor has seen it yet. but so for all is good. I think more than likely it'll make it to print. the editors were only pissed because it was too long. i was considering changing it to turbojugend though, but obviously id much rather not.

i had to quote a song from ass cobra because there wasn't anything funny on apocylpse dudes that didn't have an obsceneity in it, so i settled for humorous lyrics about child molestation instead, thats why i had to quote something off ass cobra. i should've mentioned that previously, but i wasnt thinking about people noticing it, since im reviewing it for a bunch of stupid high school kids, who think linkin park is real metal.

Ironic, I just reviewed this album for my school newspaper last night. Here's my rough draft:

From the ashes of this golden age of confusion, the denim recruits came to be known as… the apocalypse dudes. So begins the first song from the classic album “Apocalypse Dudes” by Norwegian rockers Turbonegro, a band that helped create a totally new genre, which came to be known as “deathpunk.” The band has been around in one shape or another, with one name or another, since the late 1980’s. After several named changes, breakups, and seven inch EP releases, they released their first full length record in 1992 “Hot Cars and Spent Contraceptives.” More tours and albums followed, which brings me to their final album, before breaking up, 1998’s “Apocalypse Dudes.” The first song begins with an acoustic guitar strumming a few chords over and over, then comes the guitar riff. Silence, and then an organ. A hushed whisper and then another guitar riff. Then, the jams are kicked out. The songs are reminiscent of 70’s punk bands the Dictators and the Ramones, but with a far darker, heavier twist. Imagine combining the blazing fast guitars of Motorhead with a Ramones song. You then have a basic idea of the music of Turbonegro. The vocals and lyrics however, are in a class all their own. They’re funny, without being a joke band. Humorous lyrics like
“The Nemesis of the toddler
I look just like your father
But I am, the midnight NAMBLA”
Combine with serious, in a roundabout sort of way lyrics like
“I hate the kids
I hate their clothes
I hate their stupid looks
When I play my rock-n-roll”
That’s right, Turbonegro is not afraid to express their feelings.
With the recent success of fellow Scandinavian musicians The Hives, popularity for this band just continues to rise, with two of their albums being re-released by the American label Sympathy For The Record Industry next year.
I can’t listen to this album without being rocked, and if your musical tastes range anywhere from classic rock to heavy metal, you couldn’t either. This is real rock and roll.

Appetite for Destruction is one of the best rock records of all time. Comparing a band to that is a compliment. If you are going to compare an 80s band to Kid Rock it would be more along the lines of Poison or Warrant.

Guns and Roses suck hardcore. Now that you've compared these two bands, I know I don't ever want to here them. Guns and Roses were the Kid Rock of the 80s, except with a better guitarist.

Turbonegro is one of the finest bands of all time. They completely transcend any genre, or musical category. They are in a group all by themselves!

Yeah, I cant wait until all those Pennywise fans start dressing like sailors and having sex with each other once the new record's out on Burning Heart. That's a trend I have no problem with.

This album is not just one of the best "punk-rock 'n' roll" albums of all time, its simply one of the best albums of all time. And although this band has been somewhat overlooked by people in America, its only a matter of time before they blow up. They just signed to burning heart for a 2 record deal. Wait, who are the hives again? These Norwegian bastards are going to take over America in a very short time, mark my words.

This album is simply amazing. I am a total sucker for rock solos and this record has them in every song.

This is not just a must have for the fans of the afore mentioned bands, but this release is a must have for anyone who isn't deaf and can appreciate good music.

So much more should be said about this record. It's one of the greatest of all time- no exaggeration. "'Have you ever been laid?' she said. Fuck you, I'd rather have some good good good good good good GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD HEAD!"
