Some bands live fast and die young-- while others only get better with age. Such is the case with the River CIty Rebels, back on the scene with their third full length release on victory. No Good, No Time, No Pride is a twelve song disc that comes from the heart of these northeastern rebels. I bought this disc on the release day and couldnt wait until i got home to play it. Into the discman it goes.. here goes my review.

Hands down, best rcr record by far, although the others arent to shy of amazing, listen to "Mutiny". great album. really good feel and sound. this album, one man army's album and madcap's album are great on shuffle play. THe album is really good, and it is good song writing as well. I live in Rutland, VT, about 45 minutes from dan's hometown of White river Jt. and when they play close to Vermont, their shows are amazing. They are awesome live, eventhough, the last probably two times i saw them the live show has been exactly the same, and that gets old. but, the album is good, and they are a good group of guys who like to play music. Go buy the record if you don't have it, sing-alongs, power cords, horns, and thought provoking lyrics will satisfy your decision to see them live!!! what the fuck is going on?! fuck you posers this doesnt match the oi sounds of the streets E VERY DAY I HAVEN TO DEAL with bad homnophobeds at my school because posers like yoiu make punk 77 the clash sex pistols hye its kris from average joe here fellas cheecks kattan. i saw jew guys at ozzfest and danny pist on my shoulder wow it was rocking hey speaking of niggers have you guys heard the new bouyz to men record, its slammin like a shaq. i once drug a black apple pie oh my oh my potatos are the official vegetablegers of idaho. one time my cat luynar threw up[ aa terd fergison. If you haven't picked up the album you're missing out!!!! This is the best one yet, they just keep getting better and better. Their live performance is what sets them apart from other bands. Dan AKA Bopper, has great rang and belts out song after song. Keep up the good work!!! ha ha ha ha the river city rebels what a joke Punknews.Org's interview with the River City Rebels is up now: I'm a day-glow what? ugh! Yeah, well, I'm a day-glow worm. go back to white river junction. To the nitpicker a few comments down: if its from vermont...its about as punk as a fucking cow the reveiwer lives in an apartement in the sky. To the reviewer. the river city rebels should die. A rebels show is all energy, every kid in the place has there fist in the air while singing along. They have the best live show going much. This album will give you an idea of their awesome performances. This record is badass, I picked it up a day early last week and it hasnt left my cd player yet. Classic rebels sound with some new catchy tunes. The tour documentary is cool too showing 3 days in the life of a rebel. Buy this album. Trev-Pittsburgh PA Nothing amazing. The band gets boring quick. To the guys who said RCR doesnt know anything about a small town, check the web site. They are playing a free show in white river jct. VT. The very birth place of the rebels! So yea, thats it. This doesn't have the strong horn section that Racisim, religion, and War had, but it's got more than Playing to live, Living to Play. So I'd say this ranks number for RCR. As for the kid who says the layout was cool, your a dink. the layout looks like so much trendy Jamie Reid wanna-be shit. Aside fomr that this cd is good, but they are better live. To the kid who says he hates RCR and their Small Town Pride, they aint got no Small Town Pride no more. They don't even play around their small town. The scene that Dan O'Day once took credit for creating is fucking dead. good fucken record! cool layout too.. Half the kids in the back of the show are like the Boston Music Guy while the other half are busy flaming internet chat rooms and message boards like this one. or it could be said that the people at the back of the shows aren't interested in the band thats playing. i assume this happens to rcr alot. bmg- the song is about boring people in general. I liked their first album, but jesus christ, what's with the new fashion? Their whole sound, style, attitude, and stage act seems like one big '77 throwback these days. Move forward not backwards. Why would they complain about the people that stand in the back at shows. I havent heard the record yet but I plan to and I really hope that their basis for making fun of these people isnt just that they stand in the back at shows. A lot of people do that just because they are A. small and dont want to get their ass beat in a pit. B. just want to enjoy the music without having to make a scene. or C. just want to hang out at the bar and have a good time while listening to a band play and enjoy a cold brew. Please tell me the whole song isnt about just standing in back at shows... because thats just stuipid... I will buy it anyway.-BostonMusicGuy does this record have more horns than the last one or a lot of street punk again? http://www.punknews.org/reviews.php?op=albumreview&id=1070 |
