Snapcase / Boy Sets Fire / Atreyu / Vauxlive in Denver (2002)Tours Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: Chris (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on October 16th 2002
Vaux opened up for the Victory (or former) trio, but the line was so slow I only caught their last two songs. Vaux (sounds like "vox") sounded like Refused's vocals with a rock tinge and none of the sonic experimentation. If people had known who they were, they might have gotten into it and really rocked out. Since the stage was cut off by a ridiculous barrier, no fans could get close to the band. Vaux had a lot of intensity but not a lot of energy, except for one of the bassists (I think there were two, this was a huge band with two or three guitars and one or two basses). This bassist had huge hair and was banging out his own concert with his fro flying all around. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Atreyu is sweet and M.A.D isnt The atreyu guy sounds like the guy from NFG when he sings, therefore it SUCKS! Atreyu is one of the worst bands on cd and live. Not only are they cheesy as hell live(ex. the syco Iron maiden moves in the middle of the stage with the 2 g-tar players and the bass player) How fucking lame can you get. One of the worst things to come out of OC EVER. Yes there worse than 18 visions. onl thing you have to look foreward to coming out on victory in the hardcore area is M.A.D i think i am giong to be checking out this show on tuesday if i don't have a ride to see saves the day. i'm sure either show will beat the thrice show i saw last night, though HWM was pretty rad. Shit, i think it actually spelled Boulder. Yeah, this was a decent show, but it wasn't shit compared to fucking tool the night before in Bolder. Christ they are the best band in the world. I like Atreyu. It took me a little while to get into them though, because of the vocals. The singer reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne when he sings and a giant bird when he screams. But man, they kickass. This was such a great show. | Features
