There's no doubt about it: with Ha Ha, GBH presents us with their best new material in a while. These seventeen powerful tracks hearken back to the '80s, when, along with the Exploited, Vice Squad, UK Subs, Discharge, the Partisans, et al, these guys ruled the British punk world with their killer hardcore punk sound. i love this album but as said before, theyre medium tempo songs. and did anyone hear about the exploited playing a show for a member of skrewdriver's party? just another point about the explpoited... thats why i didnt feed their fat fucking pockets or HUGE tour bus when they came to town. Not heard this album, but I'm very keen to do so. Poor old Wattie and Co, getting a pasting for not being intellectual giants. Back in the eighties we regarded The Exploited as an Oi band and a more a drinking sing along music. Hahaha. You idiots took British punks' comic wearing of swastikas seriously. It was just a symbol of shock and rebellion. None of them were really Nazis. I promise. Exploited were pussys and poor artists. First off, if they were so "anarchistic" why the hell did they wear swatstikas? That is like the exact opposite. And these guys seem racist as hell, but what's funny is that in an anarchist state these guys would be running like girls because the black guys who are three times their size would beat the fuck out of them. Racism is for sissies and in many ways anarchy could work, if there were more intelligent people in the world. the exploited sucked. i agree, they made punk bands that actually knew what they were talking about look bad. i would still catagorize them as anarchist punk though, even if it was rather uninformed. The Exploited knew as much about anarchy as the Sex Pistols did. They were just a bunch of talk, they didnt know jack shit. They werent nazi's but people thought they were cause they sometimes wore swastika (at least they said they werent nazis). The Exploited are an insult to the word anarchy, Confict and Crass were true anarchist punk bands. The actually know about anarchists theory. they didnt say fuck the government cause they thought it made them look bad, they actually lived it I don't think the exploited were wannabe nazi's, I know a lot of their "fans" were, but I'm not sure about them. I wasn't there so I wouldn't know, but the music I've heard from them isn't all that great anyway and lacks real intensity. Nazi's are pathetic, just like any other faction...you know like nationalists and patriots- it's all sick, maybe not quite as much, but still damn close. GBH still makes new music? Damn. No wait, we need another Plea for Peace tour review. Yeah that's what we need. Well that, and another Transplants review. I think Vien hit the nail on the head. "The Exploited are a bunch of nazis" It's time for another transplants review. The Exploited are a bunch of nazis, and deserve to be shot. GBH is alright. I think Scott has a crush on Janelle! i guess it's pretty good. the songs all seem to fall into that "not really fast, but not slow" tempo which gets boring after awhile I don't like this band, but I'll be damned if Janelle doesn't make me doubt my opinion. GBH is awesome, i've yet to hear this album though. |
