This is the official compilation of Shepard Fairley's OBEY project. If you don't know what that is, you're missing out on one of the most important things in punk rock today. Stop reading this review. Go to http://www.obeygiant.com and read the mission statement. Check it out, support the cause, and you'll be oh-so-very glad you did.

This is a good album. I like what it stands for, and the cutie Joe Beaty from Mindlikewater sold it to me. The meaning behind the name is the rightousness we as Americans have Rock on and OBEY! Wheres my review of this album?? Oh well. we dont really need 2 so i dont really care if it gets posted. Great comp though -BostonMusicGuy "aa xxx" is an awesome song. peaches is awesome. Motherfuckin the new Drexel cd is fuckin nice. Get it. Definitely a must hear in 2002. 100 Resolutions is on their split with Chinkee's. but yeah, this album made me go out and buy that split and now I am obsessed with Lawrence Arms. Another reason I gave this 5 stars despite that stupid Peaches song. This is a great album. You forgot about the (previously available, I know) Larry Arms song "100 Resolutions". Avoid One Thing throw in "Lean on Sheena", along with the righteous show stealer "LAX" from Big D. The Suicide Machines track is ok, but not great, but overall, this CD is well worth the money. The Modest Mouse song is quality...I just recommend picking this up. You find quite a diverse group of bands and songs many other places. Seriously. Listen to the song. You'll get it then. It doesn't fit, and there's plenty to make up for it. But if you ever feel like scarring yourself deeply, listen to it. How can you give the comp 5 stars when you "hate hate hate hate" one of the songs? |
