Only one word can describe the first release from St. Catharine's own Alexisonfire, and that word is unbelievable. My buddy made me listen to the sampler at school and as soon as I heard it I was hooked. I went out and bought the album the day it came out. Alexisonfire, named after a contorting, lactating, pornstar, combine emo and hardcore and turn it into a stew of ear candy. This is their best album by far. Their 2nd and 3rd are great as well, just not as raw as this. intense cd fucking 905 bitch I can't believe the nerve of some of these people to say that this album is shite. I guarantee you that everyone who said that can't play the guitar even a quarter as fast as these guys. Al you gotta do is listen to counterparts and number them to know thes guys mean business. It doesn't even matter if you can't understand what they're saying man, just feel the music and rock out. I think this album fucking kicks ass... Can't get enough of the kennedy curse. ANd by the way...if you don't like the album because you don't like the genre then fuck off and stop gving these guys bad reviews cuz just the ingenuity and creativity in their sound is so much different than everybody else that they're amazing. Well I love Alexisonfire they are fuckin great, watch Out! is great aswell...its probably slower in tempo and you dont hear that much from George but its still absolutely great oh to the reviewer "this record will make small children and elderly women cry out in fear" lol thats fuckin great! Alexisonfire is a great band. Their music gets your adrenaline going and gets you excited. Their self-titiled album is awesome, but Watch Out is mediocre. Alexis on Fire. Pure Shit. Cant understand a fucking word they say. They can eat my shit. It's pronounce Alexi Son Fire, and it's not screamo. Doc Watson was screamo, so is James Taylor. Not this. GREAT CD thursday is awsome but not screamo, just emo. alexis is screamo and awsome. and there are plenty of sing/scream bands already try asl which is already taking this scene mainstream which isent cool but there not bad. alexis is awsome theres not much more of a vierity you can do if your screaming its going to sounds the same ragardless its what you do with what you have i bought this album a long time ago... and i have always loved it. can't wait till whatch out comes out... alexisonfire is working their way to the top. way to go. I just got this cd yesterday, and its definitely growing on me. Thursday is such an overrated band!! Haha...Thrice rocks. and avenged sevenfold. I saw two videos from them.... screamo isn't thursday. These guys are putting St. Catharines on the Map. Actually rand mcnally put st. catharines on the map but you know what im talking about Amazing record, amazing band, i saw these guys play last spring with thrice. they were wicked good. although, i was also almost hit by him too....but yeah, they are really good. Wow just wow.... this is the type of band you either love to death or hate. I love them to death IO saw them once live and it was just amazing. People should really check them out. As for the hats hahahah goodness. ahhaha what the fuck is screamo? what the fuck is emo? FUCKKKK. Wow, Thursday is screamo now. fuck this shit. buy crass, not crap this band is shitty! is it SOOOOOO you're type of music?....sorry, i couldn't resist. This isn't bad....just more of the "same old same old" stuff. The screams are a dime a dozen. When will someone take a new approach and mix more singing and screaming. This band is so great. I never heard of them til i saw them live about a month ago, then i had to buy the cd. It's so my type of music. Whoa that was a lot of posts by the bands friends. alexisonfire is Le Lame Great Band, Great Record, Great Review. NO. That's pop-punk. screamo is the new hair metal You gotta see this band live, WOW! I don't know, I really can't see much difference. I mean, metalcore and Grindcore are virtually identical and screamo's only difference is that it has less of a "Chugga Chugga" effect. It's all just varied hardcore if you ask me. "whats the difference between screamo, metalcore, and grindcore? please, someone tell me." I just wrote the comment below and I forgot to add, thank you to whoever wrote this review. I wish more albums like this would get out to people who respect good music, good job. Too bad I fucking reviewed this album a week ago on this site, but I pushed "preview my review" and it erased that shit!!! Anyway, great cd. I think one of the best of 2002 easily. Amazing vocals on both ends of the spectrum and good lyrics. I can listen to this album over and over and still just not get tired of it in the least. Fucking great. whats the difference between screamo, metalcore, and grindcore? please, someone tell me. A Lexis Is On Fire?!!! It better not be mine! I'm in the band and it's pronounced A Lexis is on Fire. nothing special.....in the words of Dez Cadena "I've Heard It Before!" This comes from somebody close to the band: It is pronounced Alexis On Fire. Thats IT I'm gonna check it out now....it better be s great as you say it is. Or else I'm gonna cry like a baby because another new band has disappointed me. And you wouldn't want me to cry now would you? Alex is one fire?!!! Oh shit....put him out!!!! a few things: screamo is the worst term I've ever heard. death to that term. i saw them with hopesfall a few months ago, fantastic band...except for the fact the bassist almost hit me in the face with his instrument...also, the appearance of the sorority life girls (as the new on was filmed at my school) at that show made it more amusing (they knew a couple guys in a local metal band), as the kids harassed them to no end...watch the show, maybe you'll see me doing something stupid... i believe its alexis on fire do you pronouce the name alex is on fire or alexis on fire? OH wow great. Another southern Ontario sceamo band. This band just can't cut it. This band is suddenly every southern ontario hardcore fan's favourite band, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I can't stand the singer's voice, and I can't stand the singer himself. With the exception of the great voice of the backup singer, the band is pretty average. The buddy who introduced him to the cd should be crowned king! Way to spread great music. This band is so good whoever wrote this review is my new God! this band...holy shit...i mean....FUCK! |
