I never thought DVD's would catch on, then again I never thought the internet would either. Shows how much I know. Now what I do know is that Drive-Thru Records is one of the best labels out there right now, and this DVD definetely showcases that.

Unlike many DVD's or VHS's of labels or bands that just have a biography of the band and some live footage that is dubbed over by the actualy CD, this DVD is the exact opposite. Everything you see is straight from the stage, live interviews, and hilarious outtakes and commentary by the bands.

This disc is packed full of over 3 hours of footage, including music videos, live footage, interviews, home videos (a lot of acoustic stuff), a picture gallery, and some extra items to hold you over when you are done with the rest.

Highlights for this disc would have to include the videos for Allister and The Movielife, the very funny Homegrown being interviewed, and all of the live footage. Sure, a lot of you are already thinking "oh Drive-Thru, they suck...they have all pop punk bands...wah wah wah." That's fine and dandy, go ahead and think that, but if you are even the least bit open minded you will check out this disc some point in time and be able to realize what great music is on this label, and how fun and entertaining this DVD really is. Give it a chance, because it is not one of those DVD's that you watch once and put aside for a coaster, this one can be watched over and over again.

The final result is for $12 you can get a hell of a lot of music compacted on one small tiny little space saving disc. If you are thinking..."wait a second, I don't have a DVD player!" Then go out and buy one right now (or buy PS2-you get the best of both worlds with that) because you are living in a different time and will be consumed by the future very quickly. Mark my word.

Haven't you ever wondered why you can now by used VHS for only $2.99, it's because VHS are like N64 games, in a year you won't be able to find them anymore.

    The Clash are on CBS

Strummer was signed to Hell Cat.

I'd say my major problem with drive thru is that they are a little too punk. I mean, most of it is just Sick of It All influenced hardcore. Look, Blood for Blood is a great band, but there are only so many bands that copy their sound that I can listen too. That new found whatever band sounds like rejected songs from black flag cds. And don't get me started about the blatant similarities between Alister's new one and Metallica's Kill Em All. I'm surprised Napster didnt sue them. And all these bands' lyrics focus a little too much on political theory. Lighten up, guys.

    My Score:

The problem I have with this review is.. Most of us have already given (or been forced to give by ex girlfriends.. blah) every one of the Drive Thru bands a fair listen, and STILL its obvious they blow. It has nothing to do with them being on Drive Thru except for the bands who changed their sound once they went to Drive Thru. For example: I hate The Starting Line even though I've listened to a full length and seen them live. I hated Finch before I even knew they were on fucking drive thru, they're a lame excuse for a shitty band who might not be as bad if they didnt scream and cry so much but even then they wouldn't be 'good' they would just be a shitty band. Autopilot off had a few good songs when they were Cooter but have you noticed they don't play any of these songs on tour? Rx Bandits were ok when they were Ska but the new albums sounds like Finch with horns, which happens to be their album on Drive Thru. Homegrown also had a few decent songs between the first two CDs they put out but since they signed to Drive Thru I haven't appreciated a single one of them. I could go on and on and go through every band on the label, but the fact remains that I hate the music because it sucks not because of the label its on.

I don't hate Drive-Thru because it's affiliated with the label that destroyed H2O, I hate Drive-Thru because of the subpar bands that are billed as "extraordinary" on the label and the whole pile of shit that happened between the label and this site. Frankly, I'm quite sure THAT's the reason a wide majority of people here dislike Drive-thru with a passion.

P.S. - RX Bandits own, but I guess since other people have said that too, I am not being openminded and expressing my own opinion.

It's not trendy to hate drive thru because of the mca thing. It's trendy to hate drive thru cuz the music is bad. Finch and Rx Bandits aren't bad, but every other band I've heard from the label sucks. I don't care if they are indie or not. Whats important is the music, which sucks.

Its such a trend to hate Drive-Thru bands because of the affiliation with MCA Records. Open your eyes...there are a lot of great bands on this label and I don't care about the MCA deal because its not a deal that makes a band worst. I'm pretty sure a lot of you would like Finch if they were on a real indie. Stop bashing DTR because of the whole "Major" label thing. Just listen to the bands and then after you will be able to express a real opinion!

Drive Thru Records is one of the best labels out there? You have got to be shitting me. That is ridiculous even by wussemorock standards. I mean, maybe if you take out the "one of" and replace "best labels" with "worst label," you might have a valid point. And by the way, I was openminded until I actually heard how bad some of these bands are. Buying the DVD wouldn't be openminded. It would be stupid because I already know I don't like it. Oh, wuss is right about one thing: you won't use it for a coaster. You will be so enraged that you wasted twelve dollars you could have hocked for drugs, you will probably use it as a frisbee until you get fed up with that and toss it in the microwave.
