Albums pretty good... Sometimes the vocals make me laugh... there an awsome band..for those people who think they know everything about music...pull the god damn stick out of your asses for christ sake...its good music...there lyrics have meaning...and im sry but the old bands are the old bands...they are good...but you cannot compare those old bands to our new generation...get over it fuck f***k you all for doubting this c.d, maybe you should actually listen to it thoughly before judging it. Come to think of it, they sound alot more like Grade than the other 2 bands. Screaming over pop-punk music. I like Grade a little more though Come on...fuck all you bastards...give these guys some fucking credit. Listen to their work. You guys have a bias opinion about these guys. Every person that hated them on here probably used the word cliche. You guys don't even care how much effort these guys make. I've seen them twice and both times they were outstanding...amazing. Their drummer is just simply amazing by himself. I mean really...listen to them and tell me they aren't fucking great at what they do. I know in the back of your mind you will like them a little but since you're such an ignorant prick, you'll just say you don't like them to all your buddies. first of all i hate glassjaw with a passion, hate everything about them... though i do like finch and a static lullaby... glassjaw in my opinion is one of the worst bands out there Q-Who has a small dick? you can shit on this band all you want, but their live show definitely makes up for what you claim they lack. their performance and stage presence blew finch out of the water and drowned them before you could even say "drive-thru." this band is what finch should have sounded like all along. this is bar none the best album of the year so far. i might change my opinion after april though (lagwagon, less than jake, rise against, no motiv releases) AFI is terrible. listen to the misfits...or danzig. attention: the Rise Ferret Records is probably the best, most consistant label out there right now. Except for this cd, which isn't that good at all. SkyCameFalling (rip) is fucking amazing and so is The Rise. What is IRC and how did you get the entire new AFI album off of it? Anyways, yeah these guys sound like the new run of the mill style of the month. Good Riddance is on the next atticus comp.? Fuck...thats reason enough to buy it. That band kicks so much fucking ass it's scary. And Against Me! is a pretty damn creative band, they have some great songs. AFI is a bit overated, but they still have some good stuff. Hoit Water Muisc is good stuff. But this band is just too radio friendly, it sounds like you could hear it on the radio anyday. To that dude talking about the Atticus 2 comp, HWM recieve free shit from atticus, along with a whole lot of other bands, such as Good Riddance and the Alkaline Trio, which is probably the reason at least they are on the next comp. Against Me blow so fucking much it's actually sad. AFI are one of the most overrated bands, and A Static Lullaby pretty much suck my balls as well. You know what I hate though? All these people coming on here and telling me to like other bands. Shit like "This blows, try listening to HWM". Fuck man, Everyone knows who HWM are, and everyones heard of Shai Halud and atreyu and shit, and if they don't like them by now, I don't think they will in the future. However, not everyone has heard of A Static Lullaby, which makes this review informative and helpful. This is the exact reason why I never post of this site. This band would rock if they fired everyone, hired all the guys in against me and played against me cover songs. I don't think it's bad....just not great. I actually liked that "Girl Is Grey" by AFI. jesus, this dude sounds like his throat's gonna explode. it's alright. it's no andrew wk though. wow, i really didn't mind this band that much. I reckon the new AFI album will be funny as hell. Just because they are so proud of it, and it sucks so bad. If Girl's not grey is anything to go by. I really can't stand that fucking song. Another shitty band with an emo name. Weak, weak, weak. By the way, Atticus 2 will feature tracks by HWM, D4 and JTB. What the fuck?! sing the sorrow is kind of like a black sails meets art of drowning. i'm not sure if i like it yet. I just got the full AFI album off IRC so I actually have heard the album in it's entirity. It flows VERY well, if you only heard the first 40 seconds of every song how can you expect it flow, moron. Also, Now The World and Rievers Music aren't on the album. It has a much harder feel then those songs did. Yeah.....I just heard the whole entire new AFI album....well, I heard the first 40 seconds of every single song, they have them on Kazaa, only not in full form...i don't know who is putting this stuff online, at first all of the girls not grey mp3s were either radio snippets or actually Morning Star off the last album, then all of a sudden all of the songs were disguised as new afi songs but were actually rap songs! now these half songs...whatever. Considering tha I heard most of the record I guess I can give a general viewpoint. It's not typical AFI at all, Davey seems to scream a lot and some of it seems hardcore like the song "Death Of Seasons" and some of it is really mellow. Some of it doesn't work, but some of the songs are good. You'll have to chek itout, it's not great...but not terrible either. Has anybody heard the "other" new AFI song? It's called celluloid dream and it sounds just like this shit! Davey tries to scream and mix his mellow vocals together.....it's really quite funny! they blow live, the singer sucks and they blow, atreyu owns them...but they suck real bad as well, should go fuck eachother in the mouth whilelistening to thursday this band and atreyu are so pathetically cliche and trite its sad. Radio friendly. You can't sing like a pop rock band, put in crunching riffs and an occasional weak scream and make any difference. Wasn't digging them. GLASSJAW gets the 5 stars Static Lullaby are great, you're most definately not giving these guys enough credit. They're also amazing live. Off topic....did anyone else see Bush's horrid speech!? not bad, not bad. i like how everyone isn't quite going apeshit over how bad they are, but there seems to be a pretty consistent tone in which nobody really likes them. there's no way a static lullaby can currently be exclusively classified as indie anyway, as their hype is being blown way out of proportion to do so. they're featured on interpunk and absolutepunk, and right now probably own the title of having the most anticipated album of january, except for maybe useless i.d. who are kinda getting better even though their split is probably the best style for them. but anyway, i will get this album really soon and they seem to be really good. definitely not nearly as chaotic as glassjaw but the finch comparison is as "no shit" as telling me new found glory - no, check that, good charlotte - is one of the most hated bands. but i will admit that this album would never ever display a drive-thru records logo on the jewel case. youre comparing finch and glassjaw as if theyre the same band. glassjaw has 100 times the talent of finch. they demos were a lot better than the actual album tracks. one part sounds like bayside . . and not quite as poppy as finch . . Let me say 2 things for you all... I don't think you're opening that many people's minds abotu HWM. They are pretty popular now and most people have heard them or listen to them. apparently i'm the only one who likes a static lullaby on this board... "(don't forget to) breathe" was the name of a compilation that came out on crank records in january 1997, which is possibly why that name sounds so cliche right now. Nice opener Scott, for a minute there I thought you were selling Girls Gone Wild video tapes or some stupid shit. im sorry, i find glassjaw a little more up to the weather than this. they are musicians.. and this guys melodies are weak. That second paragraph is gold. what a horrible band name good review. It does sound like Finch, holy shit. Maybe a little harder sometimes. Finch isn't all that great either though. I think I like this bands music a little more. i'm an indie kid and fuck you...this sounds excactly liek both of those bands so fuck you for trying to tell me how i'm going to feel. and fuck all of you for not ever reviewing le shok's only full length and fuck you for not knowing how great the red onions are and fuck you just cause. I like a few of their songs. Yeah, hate to say it but these guys are pretty fucking weak... Same old cliche bullshit sound that's been done so many times before. I also think the vocals are extremely weak... All you trendy fucks should go to your local indy record store and pick up something decent... planes mistaken for stars, vaux, shai hulud... anything "don't forget to breathe" is the lamest album title I have ever heard. I am currently listening to this record as I have to review it and it is pure fodder. Another band here and gone in a year. And while the artwork is nicely done, it was better the first time I saw it, on Converge records. LAME |
