Saw them live and they had so much energy with great hooks this is real good stuff. It saved my day just bought it and it rules the day This album and the one before are great. Where the reviewer sees any touching points with pennywise is a huge fuckin mystery to me. Fuckin unbelievable great. Yeah, I was there too, and saw them last week with Bad Religion. Great fucking band, I'm surprised they haven't blown up yet. Great cd great band. I saw pistol grip at the glass house in pomona on the 31st of may for theeir record release party and they r-o-c-k-e-d!!! i rocked. We all rocked!!! ROFL! COOLEST REVIEW EVER! This is not to cause controversy or anything, but have you ever seen Pistol Grip? Did you listen to the first album? If you did what did you think of it? I have played many shows with PG and have seen the crowds grow bigger and bigger and the kids sing more and more. I think you should give them a second chance. JMearsCSCS@aol.com This record is pretty boring, their first cd Shots from the Kalico Rose was a whole lot better. I can't see a PW connection either...and the review is crappy. I'm sure you guys thought this review was real cute, but it just makes it extremely obviously that you reviewed an album you didn't even really listen to. Seriously, this isn't a fucking review...it's a joke and i don't think anyone is laughing at it. (Except maybe Scott) never listed to an album but they are ok live, i have noticed the same vox tendancies tho.. pistol grip sound NOTHING like pennywise, i think you reviewed the wrong album. this cd is pretty good but if you wanna hear this band at their best check out their first album man that su/oma/pistol grip show was nice. NICE!!! Just be glad wuss and pat41 aren't posting, pat posted on the DKM Live show review so he's still around. I don't see the Pennywise connection. OK, I just saw Pistol Grip live tonight, they rocked it and helped me get drunk. a chicken quesadilla owns the steak quesadilla it cant be him for 2 reasons: i'm not gone yet guys, i've just been away for a while from lack on internet access. I agree this pistol grip cd lacks alot of what makes polyviynl great, they could take some pointers from their bands or simple plan i think wuss finally figured out on one liked hime after the tsunami bomb guy made fun of him. on the same note what ever happened to boston music guy havent seen him in awhile. "polyvinyl records belong to construction workers who secretly wear panties" Pistol Grip fucking rocks. The guys are grest guys and they play good honest music. Their live show is good too. Musically, PG couldn't be farther away from PW than they are from Celine Dion. They don't play any melodic hardcore. This is streetpunknroll at its mediocre best. If you like One Man Army, Swingin' Utters, Rancid, U.S. Bombs, The Class Assassins or The Forgotten, then check this out and stick a taco up yer ass. Is Broken Radio on this? Cause that is probably my favorite song right now. Yeah, seriously.. Where'd the PW reference come from? I just listened to some samples and heard absolutely no hint of that. Sorry everyone is dwelling on that line in your review, but it was a pretty poor intro. pistol grip doesnt even BEGIN to sound like pennywise, so for those of you who are curious about the band and havent heard them yet, strike that comment from your memory. saw them twice this weekend.... BOOOOOOORING! nachos de grande rock and so did this album. don't know why u gave it a bad rating. at least see them live, maybe that will convince you otherwise. it did to me. I'm gonna have to disagree. Pistol Grip brings the rock. Pistol Grip pisses all over that whiny-ass Polyvinyl nonsense. bad bad review. next time, when you review a record, go in with an open mind and without any preconceived notions as to what the band supposedly sounds like-pennywise? don't think so. clean the earwax out of your head and listen to the record again. agreed with the guy underneath me... i thought that you could have done a much better job reviewing it... pistol grip does not sound anything like pennywise!! damnit... there's a huge difference between the skate stuff that pennywise does and the stuff that pistol grip plays(just because it doesn't have starry guitars, doesn't mean it sucks)... i prefer to listen to this than most stuff that has come out recently... Crap review. This doesn't does the band any honour, as they certainly do NOT sound like Pennywise. I think they hang towards old Rancid or the Utters more. The production was idd not very good, but this is an excellent cd overal. I thought this album rocked. Oh wait....it's cool to hate PW right? Even if a band (like this one) doesn't sound ANYTHING like PW? You guys need to use your head when writing reviews. I'm disappointed in you Moldy. While not as good as their last album, I think this is one of the better releases this year....and the new PW will most likely rock too. are you speaking of 'the runs' you get after eating taco bell? Fucking awesome review. And the funny thing is, roughly 90% of this conversation was real. |
