dead set you guys are a joke trying to decide on the best live album ever. scream real loud is insane. its alive- ramones is great. the live kiss albums ae great ( i persnoly like the kiss sypmphony dvd). as a matter of fact almost any live album i can think of by a decent band is great

My apologies for ending my post on an upnote, my team had just signed the greatest ever player from my country and I was rather happy about it, I thought it might lighten up the post somewhat. Also, how did that comment "disporove any sense of intelligence"? If Einstein said "I love football" would that disprove his theory of relativity? Frankly, I don't see how declaring my wishes for the future of Ice Hockey (and yes, it's future is in doubt) makes me come across as any less inteligent.

Ok Mr BSD I'm gonna have to stick up for the Queers here I'm afraid. Oh yeah, 7 Seconds are well good, both of their first two albums have live tracks added on at the end so you can always pick one of those up instead of this.
Where was I, oh yeah. The Queers are better than the Ramones, sure the Queers have had some shite albums but don't try telling me that the Ramones never did either. I own a fair chunk of material from both bands and if I had to part with one it would be the Ramones.
Sure they were an important band but being important doesn't make you good. Also, just because you draw heavily on an influence doesn't mean you aren't better than that influence, the Ramones had influences too ya know.
Joe Queer writes damn good songs, and the Ben Weasel and Metal Mike tracks on the last Queers album were some of the best stuff they've written (esp. in the case of Metal Mike).
The Ramones would have killed to have writen some of the songs the Queers have put out and vice versa.
Most of the Queers stull sounds jack all like the Ramones, if anything they sound more like the tracks that the Ramones were trying to imp.
The Queers live album is also top notch.

News flash: the Queers were much better 15 years ago. Check some of that crap out. Ramones... Okay, don't like them, but they have EVERYTHING on the Queers: Catchiness, tightness, lyrics, and, more than anything, are a lot more fun. You can hear more variety in the Ramones than nearly any other catchy punk act (60s soul, surf, and rock made raw and mad like never before). I also can't see how one can not see that the Queers have always been a second rate Ramones... the sound is there, just not the soul.

I didn't put the Queers in a higher place than the Ramones,I simply said I enjoyed their live CD.Which,if you'll refer to my first post,I NEVER said was better than the anything the Ramones put out.I simply said that I don't like the Ramones,their music is easy to play,and uninteresting in many ways to me.I wasn't alive when they started out,I wasn't alive to see them play,I'm only here now,to see the bands they inspired,and talk about how they're not "revolutionary" to me,seeing as I've seen the same thing thousands of times,even if they were inspired by the band I dislike......

Most punk bands have menial talent... If you're looking for "talented" bands you are listening to the wrong genre... Punk bands were "inspired", to such an extent that they took rock/pop and twisted it into something totally different. And I hate to break it you, but the Queers wre so inspired by the Ramones they covered the entirety of "Rocket to Russia"... God knows why, though. 501 is just a kid with a crappy taste in music... Can't help that.

For more good 7 Seconds fun, I personally recommend Alt.Music.Hardcore. It's fast, gritty, uncomplicated lyrics and it seems all that 7 Seconds wanted to do was get the crowd going in a giant pit, and play their music as fast as they can. The production is absolutely awful(It's a collection of 7" stuff from '82 - '85) but it only seems to make it better as a whole.

I have to agree. And there really is no prime for punk bands who have been around for a long time. Either they evolve (Clash) or tour for years until they break up or die (Ramones, Slaughter and the Dogs, the Damned, Buzzcocks)... More likely than not, they just disolve within a few years.

Yeah, after all the hype it got I was expecting alot (talking about DKM live on St. Paddy's Day). I agree with sickboi, their live stuff on the singles collection was a lot better. Boys on the Docks and Skinhead damn near gave me goosebumps.

To the reviewer, yeah I saw 'em in 2000 (or was it 2001? When they toured with Kid Dynamite...) and they were pretty much still at the top of their game. But come on, you can't really call it their prime.
