Wanted:A penultimate representation of what a live CD is and should be. It must be a CD that catches the band at its zenith, their prime. In short, a CD which perfectly capures an undeniable spirit and will. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Joe Queer seems to idolize Ben Weasel. dead set you guys are a joke trying to decide on the best live album ever. scream real loud is insane. its alive- ramones is great. the live kiss albums ae great ( i persnoly like the kiss sypmphony dvd). as a matter of fact almost any live album i can think of by a decent band is great so back to the 7 seconds record. go pick it up, then go see them live and be amazed. The Queers have made five shitty albums. Okay... This is also opinion, buddy, so don't act like it's a "fact". Okay... This is opinion, buddy, so don't act like it's a "fact". My opinion is that the Ramones are better. But it is a fact that the Ramones never tried to play like the Queers. That comment proved that you haven't heard enough Ramones to really judge them. And all the ice hockey comment did was disporove any sense of intelligence that was there beforehand. Ok Mr BSD I'm gonna have to stick up for the Queers here I'm afraid. Oh yeah, 7 Seconds are well good, both of their first two albums have live tracks added on at the end so you can always pick one of those up instead of this. "I've seen the same thing thousands of times, even if they were inspired by the band I dislike......" right as you get things back on track, i have to fuck them right back up. 7 Seconds is playing shows again! I can't wait for a new album and tour. I didn't put the Queers in a higher place than the Ramones,I simply said I enjoyed their live CD.Which,if you'll refer to my first post,I NEVER said was better than the anything the Ramones put out.I simply said that I don't like the Ramones, their music is easy to play, and uninteresting in many ways to me.I wasn't alive when they started out,I wasn't alive to see them play,I'm only here now,to see the bands they inspired, and talk about how they're not "revolutionary" to me,seeing as I've seen the same thing thousands of times, even if they were inspired by the band I dislike...... Alive-Alive-O, by the Radiators. Check that out. Great live album. "PSSHH Fuck the Ramones, did it really take talent to play that music ?" this thread is no longer about 7 seconds, but whatever Uh, did you just call the Ramones simple and put the Queers ahead of them? Do you know what an ass you sound like? PSSHH Fuck the Ramones, did it really take talent to play that music ? No,because I can play most any Ramones song, and that's with my limited experience with the Guitar.I personally liked those Social D and DKM live CDs,but I think my vote will go to either the Vandal's or the Queers live CDs.I can't remember their names, but someone probably does..... shut it God damn you people and Ramones. Hahahaha... KISS... Yeah, they're really for people who know about music. Anyone who really knows music knows that KISS - ALIVE is the greatest live album ever. Jees, you guys don't even want to know the truth. For more good 7 Seconds fun, I personally recommend Alt.Music.Hardcore. It's fast, gritty, uncomplicated lyrics and it seems all that 7 Seconds wanted to do was get the crowd going in a giant pit, and play their music as fast as they can. The production is absolutely awful(It's a collection of 7" stuff from '82 - '85) but it only seems to make it better as a whole. "See below for the band that is responsible for all the bands being mentioned. To the guy who mentioned the Descendents: Yeah, after all the hype it got I was expecting alot (talking about DKM live on St. Paddy's Day). I agree with sickboi, their live stuff on the singles collection was a lot better. Boys on the Docks and Skinhead damn near gave me goosebumps. whoa...wait a minute, best live album ever is easily Liveage by the Descendents. Social D live at the Roxy is a close second. Personally I thought DKM live on St. Patty's Day was a little disappointing. Best live-sociald, but coming in a very close second is f2f-oldpunker- As much as i love, worship, and adore the ramones, i still put Live At The Roxy a notch slightly above It's Alive See below for the band that is responsible for all the bands being mentioned. The live Social Distortion cd has a little too much macho energy for me...Even the anti-jock banter comes accross too, well, jock for me...I guess i'm just not as tough as 5' 3 Mike Ness. "Yeah, pumps you up to rape a girl in the back of your Chevy pickup"..... I like this cd a lot, but ive always liked the pennywise live at key club better, sure most of the songs sound the same but it still pumps me up best live album of all time you're asking for? To the guy below, listen to the live shit by the Murphy's on the Singles Collection........a gazillion times better. dont give a shit what all ou fuckers say, live on st.pattys day by the godlike dropkick murphys blows all other live records out of the goddamn water One of the best live records i have ever heard, and i have heard a lot. 7 Seconds is the shit. Period. -SaYnE_GuY Why did I say at their zenith? add another vote to lame review. to whoever asked, the show took place in 2000...not exactly at their prime maybe, more their resurgence. buy the crew or walk together, rock together Chalk up another vote for "Walk Together, Rock Together" One minute is quite a lot of time to play as many chords as possible. "Walk Together, Rock Together" is my favorite. Walk Together, Rock Together would be my recomendation. hey, i never really got into 7 seconds but thats just because i never bothered to listen. I can't say enough about this band. really, i can't This is a great cd, and 7 seconds really can't do anything wrong to me. Even their "experimental" shit is good. Kinda lame review though. Campbell's Soup, dude. Who was it that once coined the phrase, "Mmmm mmm good"? this review was like a bad 7th grade creative writing paper. i appreciate the attempt but sorry. seeing as how 60% of the readers of this site are probably in 8th grade or higher, I'm not sure this review will be as effective as intended. When its all said and done, though, I don't think this review will create any new fans... Man, I love this band, I even liked their "experimental" stuff that everyone else hated. this is a good cd Thats a damn fine review. Brav-fucking-o. |
