The highly anticipated new album from hard-core punkers Mest hit stores about a month ago, and recieved no fanfare or hoopla from anyone on this site. After sufficiently listening to this, their thrid Maverick release, it is safe to say that I can now make an accurate value judgement of these 13 pulse pounding and genre-shaping tracks. i don't hate mest, but this is the best review i've ever read. Mest rocks. This album rocks. I actually really like this album. it's good, as long as you know what it is. it isn't punk and it's not supposed to be punk. this has to be thier best cd after Photographs. the songs are great and really have meaning to them. i loved it! I had to photograph them tonight and I came to pretty much the same conclusion as you. Mest sucks just as much as this review kicks ass, which is alot. -SaYnE_GuY When Warped was here in Jacksonville, It was hard to tell if Mest, Simple Plan, or the Ataris were on stage. All sounded the friggin same. Trash trash trash trash trash Ummmm, Coheed and Cambria are fucking awesome. I always thought that being 20 somehting year old men and farting out lame ass highschool love songs to the beat of "bouncy pop tunes" would be a little dorkier then enjoying sci-fi. Especially when it is as well written as CoCa's. You sound like you heard one song and made up a opinion. Bash shit like this all you want, but dont talk about bands that actually strive to do something different and succeed. All I know is, the song "Delirium Trigger" is worth more then every song this joke has ever written...and then some. I have a feeling many people that use this site are somewhat of social outcasts who hate cocksuckers who judge them for their choice in style, music, whatever. People who just didn't fit in with the "cool" crowd for whatever reason. But the reason kids group together in social circles (the "jocks," "preps," "dorks," "punks," whatever) is for security in an insecure time in their lives (the teenage years). no i'm serious. i think mest is about 50 times better than coheed and cambria. what makes coheed so great? Umm.. ok, while I am in no way a fan of Mest, I've got to say the white power comments are kind of ignorant. Educate yourself on the subject before you make accusations. this is one of the funniest things I've read in a long while. why don't you ask mest about there old band "confederate storm" the white power band. As far as I'm concerned, the mainstream can have all of the "Mest" they want! Actually I hope they luv em and they become extremely successful so they can tour with other horrible bands like Good Charlotte and New Found Glory......oh wait that has pretty much already happened. I don't even know why people bother to consider Mest anything special. They're on Maverick Records, which is owned by Madonna. They had no credibility as a band before they were signed and their songs are of the basic pop-punk vein. They're nothing special and can't even rip-off Goldfinger, geez... HAHA! awesome review, but I think it was too intelligent for some of the kids on here to understand. Read the whole fuckin review and read it carefully before you start blabbering things like "when was benji a punk icon?" and shit like that. Once again, job well done. I was cracking up at first and then the comparisons kept going on and I was like "shit is he serious? He's keeping this up" and then I skipped to the second to last paragraph. And nice job not being a complete dick and bashing Mest horribly. I know I would Wow, you had me fooled.
