I waited, and waited for someone to say something about this album, but it looks like I'm gonna have to do it myself. Simply put, this is the reason I listen to punk rock. In 1994, Wayne of the Connie Dungs played this album for me over the speaker system of the cd store he works at and i bought after the first half of 'Guest list. I took it home and instantly had a new favorite band. I had listened to some Green Day, Nofx and Rancid before this (keep in mind, I'm from a very small, very lame town and I was13) but I still listened to the Soundgarden and the Nirvana shit. After the first week of listening to 'My Brain Hurts', I instantly became a complete, all-out punk rock junkie(not literally). I now own every Weasel release, exept for 'Teen Punks in Heat' (what can i say, i'm broke), and eventhough my tastes have changed a little over the years, I still think 'My brain Hurts' is the one of the best punk albums you can own. I know every word, every harmony, every guitar note, and every drum beat by heart. I'm not even going to mention any song names because all 14 are equally great. Some Weasel freaks wont agree that this is their best album, but in my opinion, nothing comes close. With the 'pop-punk' being passed around like a 2 dollar hooker to bands like blink 182 and Sum 41, it is easy to see why the phrase gets a bad wrap. But there are bands like the Lillingtons who are keeping the true sound alive, and there are still albums like 'My Brain Hurts in print. All hope is not lost yet. I rate it perfect, its not the best screeching weasel but if i calculated all the time i spent listenin to this cd, you could probably measure it in weeks. so i rate this perfect. this is the best screeching weasel cd. i listen to this cd at least once a week. it's excellent. great song writing by ben weasel and great music. perfect pop punk record. best screeching weasel release ever!!!! unparalleled! whats wrong with the assorted jellybeans? Winnie is a fucking loser. Maybe I'll go on metalnews.org and act like a total fag just to be like him. And lets face it jackass, there are shitloads more to laugh at and poke fun at in the metal world than the punk world. Like the hairdo's, headbands,'Hey.Hey.Hey'lyrics. That's all you got.... come on.- fathead no fuck you i dont take shit like that from little college boys... i know where you live... i don't have to defend myself cause you can think what you want, but i now own Teen Punks in Heat(go to the review section and see who reviewed that one) and I hate to break it to you, but I have eith owned, do own, or know someone who does own just about everything reviewed. so with that being said, you can suck a cock cause i'm way cooler than you shithead. by the way, before you make stupid comments that blurb up the reviews, go read all the posts and make sure i'm saying something about the album. half the time i'm making comments about the band in general. would you like to know why...cause its a fucking free country thats why. fuck off dick monger- fathead ur broke but you obviously have every cd on this site becase you put down comments for EVERY FUCKIN CD MAN. ur full o' shhit i bought this cd for $3 at a hock shop, what a deal! This is possible the best shit they've every released. what a fucking great record yup.. gotta agree, one of the best albums to date.. i got all their records after listening to this one too.. including teen punks in heat.... Yep, one of the best records in punk rock. "Science of Myth" is probably among my top 5 favorite songs of all time. I consider this the first real pop-punk album. It's a fucking masterpiece, best album they've ever released. |
