Taken for what it is, The Early November's first long player isn't all that bad, but for the life of me, I just can't understand everyone's infatuation with acoustic songs. Sure, songs like the album's opener "Ever So Sweet" and "Dinner At The Money Table" are pretty and all that, but putting them together with the rest of this album accomplishes nothing more than smothering any momentum that the rest of the songs built. "Something That Produces Results" comes out of nowhere, and has a fantastic breakdown that really gets the listener excited for the rest of the album. "The Mountain Range In My Living Room" is interesting enough, but is immediately followed by three songs that are bland in comparison to the songs before them. this cd is a classic. This CD beats their previous CD. i dont know what this reviewer is talking about. the album rocks and the new triple disc is going to kick ass! no...they choose the wrong songs for this album. They dont suck they just killed all momentum with the acoustic songs. The word Idiot really hurts my feelings to...please stop (sarcasim) Because they suck. I knew this site would rip on TEN. Thank you chris you are the only one i have seen on some of the boards i go to that isnt a dumb shit. this is quite possibly one of drive thru's best releases. I enjoy that Something That Produces Results song. this is probably one of my all time favorite records...if you cant tell that ace(the singer and songwriter) doesnt write in a smart, talented way, then you obviously dont know much about music...even if you dont like the style, you should still respect him and the whole band for the way they go about writing music...they keep things natural, nothing is autotuned or click tracked...its just them and their instruments, the way it should be...so give them some cred even if you dislike their style... if you like pop punk/emo rock like the starting line and the early november, etc. check out this really awesome band called Stanley at www.purevolume.com/stanley T.E.N. fuckin rocks "I want to hear you sad" is a great damn song its very catchey and if you dont like it then your just to embarrassed to admit it! "Open Eyes" is also a great song this is a very talented singer and guitar player and he is fuckin awesome acoustic.!! The Early November rock. this is a good c.d. that i've heard in a while!!! They rock!!! I love them. they should be getting more recognition. this is one of my favourite bands, i love their music it really calming, i dont enjoy listening to screamo all the time so this band is refreshing. i know they arent the most original but i still love them. And I say GEM because of Jesse's comments. funkisdead has to be one of my favorite people on this freakin' website. whereas this score is for hot topic. i can see its merit in smaller towns where kids have no alternative but to buy records from their mall. This score is for kool keith, jesse, and icapped2pac!!! fucking yeah!!! i'll tell you why people talk shit about hot topic. think about it for one second. if you've got half of a brain then this will come to mind. what is one of the majoy premises of punk? anti-establishment. what is hot topic? an establishment. what is punk rebelling against? pre-packaged mass-sold clothes and music. hot topic, the worst store in the world, does a friggin wonderful job of bringing punk music and clothes to the mainstream where it never should be bought. it packages conformity which is another main thing that punk music is totally against. punks do not conform. and hot topic represents utter conformity. my suggestion to you is stop being biased since you work there. and look at the real picture. hot topic is no better than abercrombie or american eagle. in fact it is worse, becuase at least those stores aren't trying to deny what they are. "Why do people care if others spell you like "u"?" oh yea, the ep was better, i agree perfect review, my thoughts exactly. i'm not a member of the 'i hate all that is drive thru' coalition,nor do i worship all that is drive thru. this band has a lot of potential, and the singer has a great voice, for being 19/20 these guys wrote a great record. i'm looking forward to the next album. but opening an album w/ an acoustic track is a bad idea. i saw them live and they were terribly bland, average poppunk fare. It is essentially what you would expect from drivethru. get the new larry arms instead Why do people care if others spell you like "u"? lol who cares if people are lazy and don't want to look intelligent since they care so much about what people think.. besides that the album in my mind was great. i actually like the cd.. more emo than the ep.. but still good. i do agree that at point its only the singers voice that saves the song.. but its still worthwhile.. pick it up or just dont bitch about it untill you listen a few times.. get past the Drive Thru thing.. there already is a TEN acoustic CD and it is by far their best release to date. it has an earlier, and might i add....waaaaaaay better version of Ever So Sweet. this, i believe its an 8 song CD can only be purchased online or at one of the shows, if there are copies still around. But your attempt to defend the early november for the rest of us early november fans failed miserably becuase now everyone thinks that little kids like you are the only ones who like them. I hate how every time genres like this are attempted to be defended, it has to be some fifteen year old using the "u" abbreviation, if you want to call it that. Am I the only person here with bad taste that bothers to type out "you?" I agree with the person a few posts below. This album was disappointing. I think the EP was a lot stronger. It had more edge to it as well. I waiting in anticipation for this album and I was very put out with what it turned out to be. I saw this band live, and it was boring to say the least. This score is the average of the cover art (2/10) and the grammatical and logical skills of the kid below me (0/10) y the fuck does everyone rip on emo or pop punk, u really need to get lives, u probably never even heard the cd. fuck that, what do u listen to that's "punk?" you really don't have to be fucking gay all the time and rip on bands that are signed on a record label, i'd like to see you make it that far. assholes what the fuck makes this emo?
