Published on November 4th 2003 I’m beginning to think that we’re running out of band names or something, as more and more bands choose vague or just completely nonsensical monikers. Just look at this band, Forever Is Forgotten? Come on. Nevertheless, I won’t write any band off based solely on their name, so I was more than willing to overlook it. Forever Is Forgotten has obviously set out on a mission to become the harshest thing out of Milwaukee since Beast. “The Architecture Is Still Burning” is filled with hard hitting metalcore that borrows from bands like Dillinger Escape Plan. Some of the riffs on this album genuinely impressed me, which is no easy task, considering the fact that I have become somewhat jaded when comes to bands in this genre. Thankfully, Forever Is Forgotten manages to keep things interesting. Even if heavy breakdowns and blastbeats are anything but unordinary for bands like this, I still can’t help but love it when it’s done right. I must comment on the layout of the CD, whoever decided to make the lyrics nearly impossible to read should consider something. The lyrics are in the booklet for a reason, do you know what the reason happens to be? That’s right, so people can see what the lyrics are! If you’re going to make them so hard to read, why even put them there in the first place? Sorry about the rant, but it had to be said.
All in all, this is a very solid record, and a nice addition to the collection of anyone who enjoys this type of music. Dumb name and annoying layout aside, Forever Is Forgotten manages to make their mark on a genre of music that is becoming increasing deluded and faceless.

Hardcore was us crazy americans attempting to do our own style of punk, which ended up being sort of like metal, but with more rhythm and no solos. So hardcore is a branch of punk. Then someone tossed in more metal, and you get metal core. I know it sounds stupid, but this is considered a evolution of hardcore and hardcore is considered punk, so this is punk. then tell'em to shove it all up his fat ass... death to all metal, not just false, ALL The thing is, Scott sends me this stuff to be reviewed on this site. Labels,bands,etc. send him stuff, and then he distributes it to the staff reviewers, that's how the site works. This is a serious suggestion, so don't take it the wrong way: Why not review the metal you're sent for a more metal oriented site? I'm sure it would actually serve much more purpose there. I don't have a problem with your actual reviews (if you don't "get" Chaotic Dischord, you're not the only reviewer on this site who doesn't), it's what you review and how irrelevant it is to punk rock. I'm not some dick who hates people cos they like metal (I actually am in to early Venom and Motorhead stuff myself, as well as lots of punk bands with a huge influence from metal like G.B.H. and Toxic Narcotic to name just two), it just kind of seems like a waste of space on this, a site that reviews punk and everything that derived from it. Metal was around before punk... BSD, I only review what I'm sent. It's beyond me why someone else didn't review Chaotic Dischord, but I just work with what I've been given. "Oh, it's not that I don't like this stuff or don't want to review it, I'm just saying that the reason I review so many metalcore albums is that no one else will." Does this band have Alzheimer’s? Seriously, fuck them and their shitty, inoffensive car stereo rock. This album is really good, people. I HIGHLY recommend it! Metalcore at its finest, but it takes several listens to understand the full impact of this CD! Oh, it's not that I don't like this stuff or don't want to review it, I'm just saying that the reason I review so many metalcore albums is that no one else will. forty, a comment like that posted underneath your review totally takes and credit from it. You obviously do not know much about metalcore, or you would also beable to pick out the interesting things this record has to offer, rather than "just getting it done" I'd rather see no review than a forced, poor one. thorp is the new home of madball and has a pretty decent roster of punk,hardcore and metal bands. check it out. That's weird. To me, Further seems more like Forever. good review, I think its cool when people review bands I've never heard of, on labels I've never heard of. That was the worst review ever. Hey, it's not my fault that no one else wants to review this stuff. 40, don't put down the names of all these bands.. i mean, that's how we all know you reviewed it before even clicking on it. first! never heard of this band! |
