Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (Deluxe)

Call it pop-punk, emo-punk, geek-core, soft-core, I prefer to call this genius.

With the pure brilliance that was Pop and Disorderly, Limp have improved their winning formula to an even greater degree of excellence! They just seem to be able to write song after song chock-a-block full of extremely (I mean humming forever, not just a couple of days) catchy tunes. I love the guitar sound the most, its overdriven just nicely and the muting sounds amazing to say the least! Wait a minute I forgot something........... oh yeah, just how good this band makes you fell when you listen to them. After listening to this album at least once a week since I got it, each and every song still brings out a smile on my face, no matter what. The amazing fact about that is that the lyrics are quite dark, but in a positive way, if you know where i'm coming from. In my opinion Ten Minutes is one of the best pop-punk songs ever written, and Limp should get more credit than they currently recieve. Well, I think youve kinda got the idea that I rate Limp quite highly. The next album can't come quick enough!

Am I the only person who realizes how utterly bad this album is? God, this album just sucks...ass crap. Maybe it's just me but their vocals are way too weak for my taste and as stated before it's really bland and generic.

    Limp fans unite!

I just read this at www.limp.com

"New Record Confirmation! Serge has informed me that Limp will be in the studio with Ryan Greene at the end of June to record a NEW FULL LENGTH CD."

    Sweet!

    My Score:

Limp's 3 cds of which Guitarded are simply outstanding. Sure can you call them pop punk, but they are so much more compelling. and enthralling. I agree, 10 minutes, may be the best pop punk song ever written. But there are others too. There isn't a clunker on any of the 3 cds. All are on Honest Don's label, and currently Limp are in a bit of a hiatus but may be recording a new record this summer. In the mean time, get Limp songs thru Audiogalaxy or Morpheus or Winmx. Trust me, this is music you'll listen to in 10 years and it will still rock your world. It is timeless and it is pure genius.

    My Score:

I first discovered Limp on Fat Wreck Chords' 30 Second Comp "Short Music For Short People". Their song "X-99" was a very catchy, cool little song. From there I went to their website and downloaded some of their music. Immediately I was hooked.

Then I had the great pleasure of seeing them live with No Use For A Name and the Dance Hall Crashers. Limp was great! They played a very good set list and they even did a cover of the song "Holiday Road" from the Vaction movies. It was a blast. In a genre that is a bit limited (pop-punk), Limp simply rocks!

I've never heard Limp, and probably wouldn't like them (not much of a pop-punk fan), but I love that album cover. One of the funniest i've seen in a while.
