For cheap (redundant) punk thrills The Cheats deliver with their debut full-length ‘Cheap Pills’. To wit, you don’t have to invest much into this Pittsburgh five-piece’s raucous ’77-era punk, as their disc is a mere 20-minutes in length and the lyrics are quite straightforward and elementary, dealing with girls, drugs, drinking, and just generally being a loser. "Ten scene points to Janelle for use of the words 'lobotomy' and 'cretin' in the same comment." Nooooo, i misspelled a word! the gods of elitistness will not be pleased!! i just read the i get wet review at pitchfork and no, it wasn't priceless, and not because i disagree. it was a worthless attempt at pseudo-high brow humor. good one, pitchDORK! ouchies. Ten scene points to Janelle for use of the words "lobotomy" and "cretin" in the same comment. hey and by the way, the present score should be lower - more like a two... it's lobotomy, cretin. get it right. If pitchfork rated BSD, theyd say he was "A feigned attempt at coolness. We have seen this before, and frankly, Radiohead did it better. Man I love my own voice. Man I listen to good music. Avoid BSD like a labotamy - 2.3" Yes, they did deserve scores that low. Because they blow. Thank you. Im not gonna argue that they dont know good music...cuz as there best albums of the 90's feature shows, they do. But most of there newer reviews just simply latch onto a single flaw, which they then use mercilesly as a way to talk about their ideas of "the scene" and "labels" or whatever bullshit. Thrice, Cursive, and The Mars Volta DID NOT deserve scores that low. thats just ridiculous. Each is at least a 7. *sophomoric. because it has a life of its own!!! my cock could choke you. pitchfork knows more about music than you do, if that makes them elitist, i can't fault them. what is pitchfork's web site? Pitchfork is such a terrible fucking website. Its like giving music to harvard grads to review. They spend the whole review showing how clever and varied there vocabulary is, and then give shit reviews to everything that is vaguely liked by more then 2 people. Unless its artistic noise bullshit. They love to think they are artistic to, cuz ya know, artistic people have big clever vocabularys like them. Haha, they're putting out a book soon. Apparently their reviews are great enough to warrant an appearance in a $9 publication. pitchfork sucks. End Transmission has about 20 minutes of ambient filler. There's no intensity. I'm getting sick of these fucking nostalgic bands. Not as much as these metal "hardcore" bands and pop punk bands, but still, I'm coming to hate motherfuckers like this. What happened to the fuKKK spelling? I'm getting sick of these fucking nostalgic bands. Not as much as these metal "hardcore" bands and pop punk bands, but still, I'm coming to hate motherfuckers like this. nice review janelle. "can't really trust someone who gave snapcase a perfect review, heh" Janelle....im so proud. can't really trust someone who gave snapcase a perfect review, heh For good Pittsburgh music please see: people people!!!! The real surprise here is that she reviewed something from the 21st century. Thanks for crossing out one item on my "to-review" list (really). Wow, Janelle actually gave something a bad review. |
