The show at the Downtown in Farmingdale, New York consisted of Dearly Departed/Nora/Avenged Sevenfold and the ever popular From Autumn To Ashes. a7x r always gonna b great live!! first off i would like to say this..anyone who criticizes A7X and speak negatively about them should sit and actually listen to their music. they are one of the most musically tallented bands today..period. The Reverend is easily one of the best drummers in this whole "punk/metal" scene. have your opinions but dont criticize on what u know nothing about. whatever on this review. and avenged sevenfold are not hardcore. and they don't claim to be. they claim to be punk/metal and i hate people who judge a band on how thay look, what they wear, what label thay're on and where thay're from. even befor you've ever heard them. I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!!! so what if they're from orange county. i live in riverside. not too far from there. its not about ANYTHING but the music. screw you who think otherwise!!!! regardless to the fact that i dont like avenged sevenfold at all they did put on a good show and fata blew ass A7X, mainstream or not, just remember this one little thing.... to the kid two reviews down: Wow they make Sadaam Hussein sit through these bands. Now thats really torture. (Coming from a person who doesn't even like most hardcore) avenged sevenfold shouldnt be hanging around this trash. Well, if they are on Hopeless, Dress like little punkers, and play crappy mallcore, i would have to say they were trying to be punk. Yep, and little in-it-for-the-minute dipshits like you are hated too. Fuck off. I hear Limp Bizkit is about to drop a new album. I hate the scene, whatever one that is. Everything has to be part of the scene, it's fucking stupid. I also hate when people type shit like " Avenged 7fold sux tho sry" and don't think they are dumbasses. So? Um, they were on hopeless? I'm confused as to how A7X could be screwing over the punk scene when: "if you are still in the stage where you like or hate bands because they have or haven't "sold out" then you have a lot of growing up to do. Yet this is still over half of the scene out there... " Lecture time: The argument against mainstream corporate punk is as follows and will always remain... I'm still in fucking that some kid said they hate Avenged Sevenfold because they are from Orange County and on a major label... Jesus kid, are you in middle school? I don't mean to be an ass but if you are still in the stage where you like or hate bands because they have or haven't "sold out" then you have a lot of growing up to do. Yet this is still over half of the scene out there... Like or dislike a band because of their music... not because they have or haven't signed to a major label. It is an extremely immature view and frankly it is ridiculous. Yes, everyone involved in the punk/hardcore scene at one time has this view but then you grow up and realize it doesn't mean a shit... "and 2. the whole warner brothers thing" I so fucked myself over for this show. it was sold out, i had a ticket, but i decided to be a dumbass and drink in school the day before and get caught.. bad fucking idea. im pissed at myself.. Avenged Sevenfold would be a lot better if they could stick to one thing- one of their songs sounds like old (i.e. good, 1st three albums) Metallica, then Pantera, then Poison the Well: they're a classic example of how some bands can't handle multiple personality disorder (others, such as the Wildhearts, can) FATA is the worst band i have ever had to sit through. absolutely terrible. From Ashes Rise, From Autumn to Ashes, Showering Ashes, Scatter the Ashes...Enough. I'm a guy and a FATA fan, and I don't care what anyone thinks about that because I'm not trying to be anything. I'm just enjoying music. Anyway, they've never come to my city (no one comes to Toledo) but from what I have read of all their concert reviews is that with Too Bad You're Beautiful they had a great live show, and as time and their new record went on it just got weaker and weaker. I hope they regain focus or something. You must be kidding you idiot FATA rules...saw em on the Vagrant tour.. A7X sucks tho sry i saw from autumn to ashes a while back. and i must say...for a band that SEEMS to have energy on a cd...they sure are worthless live. yah, they were tight and what not, sounding just like the cd, but they had no energy what so ever. it was almost depressing. i mean...they are alright to listen to once in a while, but they could never be a favorite of mine. mediocre at best, very poor live performers. i do have to give the drummer credit though, sure his voice is fairly...lame, but he is an excellent drummer, and not a bad writer either. its just that his voice is a little to "cliche", and that is...he sounds like he's trying to be chris carabba. thats not to say i dont like the band, however. and thats that. i don't think that FATA sucks in general, but when they give the drummer whole songs to sing (and sing in his cute whiny voice), i throw the towel in Good review. FATA..saw them live on vagrant tour, and man they sucked! Hardcore? Nah, just lame ass screamo Nora fucking rock hardcore It was saturday and I was sick that night too, I think it was the Downtown's chicken fingers... a couple of things: Fuck I am an idiot, **Benjamin Perri** to the guy below me: you're in idiot. a7x was never a hardcore band. they are metal as fuck. who else can pull off the two part ballad and have the cheesiest lyrics ever and still have the listener interested? you must die, ass. Ive never seen or heard anything so bad these fuckers suck cock and have no talent...BOO HOO cry about it you fucking sissy losers since when did Benjamin Bratt start singing for FATA FATA sucks live. every single song blends together into one big mess of shit. the only discernible difference that can be seen in their entire set is when the drummer has his "solo" song. and he can't sing so that doesnt make up for anything. how can you even bother reviewing these bands...they are all so bad...how can i even bother comment? Giving A7x a slot at a Cautic Christ show would be comparable to letting Nelly open for Dead Prez! one word for anything that FATA has ever done..... mediocre Eh, since when has A7X ever claimed to be a hardcore band? Their sound is over the top and cheesy, but they do it well. One word for Avenged Sevenfold: Weak. FATA is on a downward spiral. Too Bad You're Beautiful was brilliant, pretty much capturing lighting in a bottle. Avenged Sevenfold pull off a really good live show, too. Well like I said in the review I would be willing to give Dearly Departed another chance, but they didnt show any signs of hardcore in their set.. 2 below me: It isn't the fault of girls, it's the fault of idiots. actually the singer from dearly departed has an incredible voice. he used to be in the band inside nd honestly i dont think he sounds like creed or anything along those lines at all. in fact, i would go as far to say that i think he may have one of the best voices in the hardcore scene. regardless, they played on the wrong bill with bands like fata or avenged. a murder by death or interpol show probably would have been in line with their style. Murder By Death isnt generic, I fucked up and I was referring to the vocals, not the music. So you got me.. When i saw Avenged SEvenfold with the suicide machines a few weeks ago I was amazed. They are one of my favorite bands and they put on a magnificent show. I felt that they didn't play enough songs, they only played 5(and only darkness surrounding from sounding the seventh trumpet) It sounds like they played the same set at this show. From autumn to ashes is not a good band. And that is a perfect example of why I hate girls, they suck ass, allmost all, if not all or them are trendy poser cunts, and with that i say fuck. fata is a disgrace to the LI scene How does a band sound generic and like Murder by Death all at the same time? It's just not possible. Wow, A7x cancelled their Orlando date on the Vans off the wall tour. I would've liked to see 'em again! yo was this on friday or saturday? |
