This band should be popular by now, with a Le Shok mind-set, including contempt for the rule makers, loyalty to rule breakers, and bottles of black hair dye. If Since By Man existed in 1986 you’d see them with bleached locks to the middle of their backs, leather pants, and 'come hither' looks for the big-titted girls in the front row. They’re just products of their era, and that time is nearly over.

The track “Death of Decadence” got numerous spins, but there wasn’t a sequel. Their label even included it, and only it on the website. Come hither. Other songs seemed held together by the saliva from chewing a wad of bubblegum, and little else, and the music’s not poorly played at all, but it’s predictable enough you’ll guess what’s coming next, and usually be right. There are eleven dissonant anti-songs about giving up:

“Don’t save me from the noose, don’t save me from the sinking ships.“ Blah-blah-blah...

Plus the concert photos of this Milwaukee quintet show them being cra-zay, and holding their instruments aloft, as if in contribution to the same Gods of Rock & Roll they should be against by punk-cred default. They likely consider this album a step away from the norm (a more arithmetical take on punk than usual), and I might too, if I had been in a sealed chamber this past five years.

Don’t be fooled thinking Since By Man wouldn’t sign a major label contract in as long as it’d take you to fall asleep with this on “Fucking Loud” as the print on the disc tells you to play it.

Seriously, blatant hate of someone for their style is almost as lame as liking someone for it. Its a 2 way street buddy.

Please for the love of god don't let this idiot review anything else, and mess up what is a pretty respectable website. This CD was already reviewd positivly once, what was the point of trashing it the second time around. Anyone who has a bias over a certain type of music should not be allowed to make an influential review on a site with such a large fanbase

Who are you? I think this is the most poorly written review of any nature (postive or negative) posted on Punknews.org in quite a while. What does any of this mean? Some of these sentences don't even make any grammatical sense. Are you drunk?

Either way, this is actually one of my favorite records of 2003. Even if it weren't I would still make the same comments about this review.

"Don’t be fooled thinking Since By Man wouldn’t sign a major label contract in as long as it’d take you to fall asleep with this on “Fucking Loud” as the print on the disc tells you to play it."

What? I'm sorry do you have some sort of personal relationship with any member of this band that would give you the impression that you have the ability to comment on their intentions? If you don't like the record, that is totally fine but you might want to consider another hobby.

This reviewer needs to get beaten to the point of being in a wheelchair so that he knows what it's like to sound AND look like a total retard.

    My Score:

This band is so much better than this review. The reviewer has found it is easier to write negative things about a band than positive. That equals a poor writer. If you are seeking a degree in journalism, quit now.

Holy shit.. some of you kids are totally fooled. This is one of the best HC albums released in recent memory. It's snotty, metal, screamy, has songs that don't all sound exactly same, gnarly as fuck breakdowns, and occasional elements that remind me of ATDI with out the pretentiousness AND these guys are super nice.

HORRIBLE review, this is nothing like the cookie cutter thursday or glassjaw or Thrice shit that I avoid.

Also the guitarist wears a hot snakes shirt... you don't fuck with Jon Reis, or Rick Fro..

The band was described to me as something that made you want to dance, while you destroy things.

This is exactly what I have been looking for.

I didn't find it here, and I wanted only to rip the band to shreds.

JAson Thornberry is a fucking idiot, and so is any peice of shit that said this was a good review. Especially the asshole that said the review was great because of the respone. This isn't fucking Jerry Springer shitface, its supposed to review music not stir up controversy on a fucking review site.

    My Score:

This is a ridiculous review. Since By Man is a great band nonetheless. You criticize their lyrics plainly, but I bet you'd give high marks to a similarly bland lyric album. From a mixing point of view, this is exceptional for such an early release from an upcoming band. And from the musician point of view, the dualing guitars spilt and merge at just the right times; giving the faux-chorus effect.

Suck it up and open your mind.

    Dear Since By Man,
At first I thought that it said you had a loyalty to breakers as in breakdancers. But then I read on, and I can't say that I agree with rule breaking too much at all. Not at all.

But then I played it "fucking loud" and boy was it ever. Man, I have a good stereo. Thanks, thanks a lot.

    A lame return,

While I do agree that this band sucks (and yes I do mean their music) I have to also have to agree that the review sucks. Its supposed to be a review of their music, not what they dress/act like, mention it if you must, but atleast make some comments on the music itself.

"Waah worst review waah this review sucks waah review the music waah waah waah!"

No one gives a shit about what you think of a bands clothes, or really just opinion on anything for that matter.
