The Lawrence Arms / The Ghostlive in Seattle (2004)Fat Wreck Chords Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: Katie4213 (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on February 3rd 2004
The Lawrence Arms finally made it back to Seattle after what seemed to be too long of a time, and with them the brought a Chicago favorite of mine, The Ghost. I’m a big fan of The Ghost, and it had been a while since I had seen the Lawrence Arms, so I was excited to hear new material from both of the bands. The opening bands for the night were Seattle’s Amazombies and School Yard Heroes. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Kool Keith kicks ass actually I bet the "arms" post rehab material would really suck, keep on pounded that poison fellas Enough of the drunk bashing. The guys up there having a damn good time, and entertaining. Who cares if they didn't sound exactly like the album, the performance was hilarious and fun. I saw it with a good buddy, and we'd waited years to see them play live, and I thought they were entertaining as all hell. He was drunk off his ass, and personally, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Shit, after the show he even came up and bullshitted with me. They were having fun up there and tried to include the audience. I only wish more people respected their lyrics and depth to which their songs reach. oh christ. "check www.est1987.com" 3 shows in ohio and still not one set for michigan, dammit, and they threw in a texas date on the 18th, bollocks. Good point by the guy a few posts down ... you really want to get close to the stage when Larry Arms plays, so you can see that they're just having drunken fun and not trying to recreate their albums note-for-note. And the banter is the best part. this is a hospital is a very good cd. and i shall be looking forward to this pen is a weapon. i was at that show, and 1 thing : if you were going to see the lawrence arms and plannin on critiquing thier music live, youre in the wrong place. they are there to have fun and thats what they do. if youre going to see lawrences arms and sit in the back and be like " oh my god they are so bad live," then you can fuck yourself, im sure they dont want you there either. jackass Hey fuck you- don't let Brendan sober up until I fucking see them live (FOR MORE THAN 2 seconds) Yeah the boozing is gonna catch up to that kid, but fuck if they can keep crafting albums like their last three and that Split with Shady View than BOTTOMS UP MOTHERFUCKERS "but does anyone really find the new cd to be an improvement? I don't know, I just saw them here in Fort Collins on Tuesday on this tour, with my friend who'd never really listened to them. I thought it was a really good show, and he said he'd definitely go see them again. They aren't tight on stage or anything, since they're drunk/high, but they put on an entertaining show, I think. I kind of like the variation in the songs that being inebriated causes. i was at the seattle show. the amazombies were ok. schoolyard heros were great, they totally blew me away. very distinct band, who's lead singer is pretty hot. I sat out for the ghost, but larry arms were ok. i have only seen them once before, and that was a while ago. they played some good songs, but they did seem kinda drunk.. its was an ok show just a horrible review..honestly who plays up to par after dousing themselves in buckets of booze I really liked Apathy and Exhaustion, too bad for you that you get to see a great band twenty five times. I live close to st louis and I am excited about the D4,Grabass, larry arms show in Chicago, I'll be there Being from Chicago, I've seen the Lawrence Arms around 25 times, and the last few times I have seen them, I wish I hadn't. I love this band, and all their albums, but I won't be attending their upcoming show with Dillinger Four, nor any other shows of theirs as far as I'm concerned. So sad. i've never really liked the lawrence arms. but i really really like the ghost. lawrence Arms are so overrated the Larry Arms holds a place for me as the best show I've ever seen. Did all of you completely miss the fact that the Lawrence Arms were way too drunk to be on stage? They sounded horrible! The vocals were out of key and their banter between songs was so slurry and annoying. They need to lay off the sauce until after they finish their shows. Its just disrespectful to the fans. I really have to agree. I've seen the arms many times now and I must admit that lately they have not impressed me with their live show. I still love them but the last time I saw them, it didnt do much for me. However I would've liked to see the Ghost, but I completely spaced this show when it came. seriously, are you guys that hard up for reviews, that you had to put this one up? this score is for the reviewer. thanks for "introducing" me to the lawrence arms. i should check them out sometime. I disagree. I took a few people who've never heard a single one of the Lawrence Arms songs to one of their shows and INSTANTLY they were hooked. | Features
