Winnipeg based singer songwriter Greg MacPherson's been on the road constantly since the release of his 2002 full length Good Times Coming Back Again, but despite being backed by members of indie darlings The Weakerthans it was his solo shows that truly had people raving. It's fitting then that his first release since that record captures the impassioned singer/songwriter in such a way: showcasing his Springsteen by way of Strummer style and proving just how forceful one man and a guitar can be.

In retrospect, this was one of the best EPs of the whole year, and certainly my favourite acoustic one. G7 is one of the best labels out there Hahahahahahaha. (to the comment below) I once called out to him at a show, "Your arms are huge!" To which Greg responded "So is your mouth!" I love Greg MacPherson, but I will admit on a completely meaningless and superficial level, I have always been irked by the fact the he kinda of looks like a jock. Certainly not a nerd like John K., but as it was once said surely a long time ago, it's all good. I think G7 was pretty awesome to begin with. I like how they have a small but very varied collection of bands on their label. I don't think G7 has ever released a bad album, plus all the stuff has some meaning too. So yeah, I love G7.
