I wanted to know what it was called. yeah, what was that offhand comment about ari katz? this review didn't need more details, if you weren't there that's just too damn bad for you. incredible show, souls played mostly old stuff. the first time i've ever heard grey area and i bought all their cd's and they've been rotating through my stereo all week since. philly crowd especially knows how its done, especially those of us in the back during bouncing souls, fuck 13 year old kids and their skanking. "I saw two nights of HWM and the Souls in LA a couple months ago at the Troubador. Both shows fucking went off." Score's for the new LEFTOVER CRACK album. This score is for people think you get a good steak at Genos or Pats. They both suck & the only people who go there are out of towners who don't know this first thing about a good cheesesteak anyway. They go to one of those two shitholes when they're in Philly & leave thinking they had a real Philly cheesesteak. Suckers. Avail,HWM and the Souls in two nights is fucking awesome. I envy you. I saw two nights of HWM and the Souls in LA a couple months ago at the Troubador. Both shows fucking went off. Can someone from Philly please send a hoagie and cheesesteak out to LA? They suck out here. I'll pay shipping and cooling. the reviewer was reviewing a different show, avail played the night before this At the NY show they said the same thing about recording the show for a live record. Perhaps they will pick the best show and release that one. That would be really lame if they mix and match from 3 or more different shows. The NY show was ok, but there sets are getting to be way too predictable. They play pretty much the same songs every show. Boohoo. "This was by far an incredible night. Maybe I sound a little sappy, but with all the bullshit I see in music today, this was about as pure as it gets. Good music, good people" Cool story C-Dawg i'll be watching out for that BS news damn my comments read like a 13 year old girl... for shame.. and furthermore, who bitches about AVAIL, besides a angry guy i know named josh & was a skinhead, and likes the lemonheads... anyways... those people should be shot... half a star for their ignnorance. bitches.. this review sucks a fat one. who sees AVAIL and doesnt review them.... damn. It was great when HWM came out at the end of the BS set to do "Trusty Chords" with them, and Chris from HWM jumped into the crowd and was upside down for at least 30 seconds. My comment about Brian McTernan had to deal with the fact that every record he produces is starting to sound the same to me. He's like John Feldman in that every record has the exact same snare and guitar tone. Also I dislike "Flight and a Crash" and think "Caution" is decent at best. I had to blame someone so I blamed him. I'll take J. Robbins anyday even though his recent stuff hasn't been so hot. Score is for "No Division," shitty production and all. i am so jealous you went to both shows. but that is awesome there will be a live cd. lets hope it will be a double cd. they have enough material. and isnt it weird that they are now going to have a live EP and a live full length cd. the live EP is average at best. i think they just put that out so that people would not miss the souls too much. Wow...and you're telling me I should stop reviewing. wait, what was that about ari katz? Score is strictly for the lunch at Geno's. 10X's better than Pat's anyday! The Troc's sound is strange..... if you are on the floor it seems to sound better on the floor and not in the back. something with the acoustics make it sound bass heavy and muddle the vocals. Also, am I the only person here that hates Brian McTernman? I was right behind that really scary pit, pretty much right infront of the sound guy. I'm just going to blame it on him because i had difficulty hearing Jayson Black's bass too and because he was old. Score is for the old sound guy. thats because us philly people know how to do it.....i was in pittsburgh for a while and i must say that every show i went to in that town was horrible, worse crowds in the history of crowds....ive been to shows in ny and d.c both holding their own but pittsburghs gots to go... Yo Sick, HWM's been saying their new stuff is going in some kind of a different direction. Every fucking band seems to say that when they're recording a new album though. So, what's your assessment? Do they sound like "Caution" or what? Kenjamin, where were you at? I was in the balcony and the sound was great up there... The Loved Ones left a good impression in my mind. Nothing really stands out but they sounded big for a three piece and very tight. This was the first time I ever heard of Grey Area and made the 2.5 hour drive worth it. Despite the sound being a bit off (could barely hear the lead guitar) they played an awesome set. What is the song called where Ari Katz sings? I didn't like the new Hot Water Music songs they played because there was no dual singing. Chuck sang and Chris played lead or vice versa. However, they played 3 songs off of No Division! Awesome and Turnstile sounded amazing. Not sure what is the big deal with the Bouncing Souls but whatever, they were alright in my book. I was hoping my first review in over a year would be a little better, but I lost my digi-cam, and I wrote this at work, so fire away with the insults, I could care less. SickbOI! I don't care how many times we've heard it, if you're going to write a review, explain things in FULL. |
