Hello everyone. My name is Bill, and I will be taking you through my Warped Tour adventure for July 24, 2004. You may be asking yourself why we need another Warped Tour review on the site. I feel obligated to write this, because the other ones fell more in line with the more mainstream and sub genres represented on the tour. They ignored the more solid bands on the roster, and didn’t reflect what I got out of the day. So here I go. Get ready for a long one. Please login or register to post comments. Screw you guys no good bands from here ok what about Alkaline Trio Kick ass bands I saw at Warped Tour in Chicago this year.... You guys are morons if you want to talk shit baout the scene in Chicago. Chicago has one of the biggest punk scenes in the US aside from N.Y. You guys are morons. The Phenomenauts are awesome live. i agree the scene in chicago sucks. not that many good bands and not that many supportive fans. meh, the chicago scene has A Death in Californa. therefore you cant call it a bad scene. is it me or does the hardcore scene in chicago suck?? Break the Silence kicks a shit load of ass!! They fuckin rock! Which stage was Skitsystem on? And the Genocide Superstars? And Exlcaim? speaking of rise against...does anyone know what songs they're playing during their set? Bear Vs. Shark was at warped tour and man, they tore it up although they played on the Uproar Stage, i believe, to a small crowd. The lead singer was insane: he was all over the stage and jumping into the crowd and eating the microphone; it was sick. They opened with "Ma Jolie" and closed with "Michigan" i believe and in between they played "We Were Sad ...", "Don't Tell the Horses", "Campfire" and possibly "Bloodgiver". Gotta run, more later. The best pizza is on the east coast. Deal with it. CM Punk and Samoa Joe, no way. That's awesome. Samoa Joe should've been wearing his championship belt. Did any of you catch Carne Asada on that small Hurley stage near the Uproar stage? Holy shit, fucking awesome. score is for Sonny from From First To Last jumping off the very top of the Smartpunk stage. Best parts of the Chicago show isn't blind ambition a partisans song good review. the main reason Im going to the warped tour is for the Groovie Ghoulies and Phenomenauts, so I liked that you covered them alot. and its sweet that the ghoulies played two sets "Rise Against was unfortunately stuck in the pavilion where nobody could find them. Well ok they still had a huge crowd but nowhere near as big as last year when they played on a main stage. People were asking me all day where Maurice was. Biggest mistake of this year is repeatedly sticking that stage in the ampitheatre of the venues." I have to agree about the Rise Against comment below. The Maurice/Volcom stages were the worst. So is it smarter to get tickets beforehand, or go very early and stand in line? I don't have enough money to pay for all these online service charges. G-R-O-O-V-I-E G-H-O-U-L-I-E Rise Against was unfortunately stuck in the pavilion where nobody could find them. Well ok they still had a huge crowd but nowhere near as big as last year when they played on a main stage. People were asking me all day where Maurice was. Biggest mistake of this year is repeatedly sticking that stage in the ampitheatre of the venues. =/ Here's a link to the pictures I took. Some aren't too great (Souls, Bad Religion) and some are awesome (Ghoulies, Phenomenauts) Best WT review so far. Yeah. Best WT review so far. Yeah. Duuuuuuuudde, I was also there and I thought that the Bad Religion set was the best set of the day. I was at this show as well. I think it had to be one of the better warped tours in a while. I saw a bunch of different bands though as I saw The Sounds, Melee, Lars, Dont Look Down, The Briggs, Bear Vs. Shark, nfg, From First To Last, The Casualties, The Matches, MCS, River City Rebels, Big D and the Kids Table, TBS, Flogging Molly, Hidden In Plain View, Coheed and Cambria, Go Betty Go, and Sugarcult. Um, you are from Chicago but no mention of Rise Against? Of yeah, when Lars was saying that he also gave a bunch of shout outs to all the good bands on the tour... then he also said something like "I also want to give a shout out to all my boys in New Found Glory... oh and Simple Plan too" and I wasn't sure if he was being serious or if he was just joking around. With the way him and Tim had a hard-on for those guys in Good Charlotte I'm no longer sure... “It’s not some kid with a faux-hawk and a Motley Crue t-shirt, wearing women’s jeans" I was at the Chicago Warped Tour also. "It seemed like an awful pop punk/rap show experiment gone horribly awry. " props the the reviewer. i've been listening to the phenomenauts for some time now and they deffinitely kick ass. its a shame that they have to be on a small stage, when they deserve bigger. the sounds are a good band, but i can see the money thier labled paid to get them on a main stage. once again, its a shame. everyone should see the phenomenauts and buy their cd. a shirt wouldn't hurt either. Okay, next year I'm going to pay you to go with me to Warped Tour, because you got a lot more crammed into one day than I did. Break The Silence rules. Too bad you missed Much The Same on the same stage.. they were the best non-headliner of the day. Crowd went crazy, destroyed the security, stagediving, the whole thing. I was a fan before but they were insane. |
