Oh yes... Hell yes! Another breath are the just the kick in the pants that hardcore kids everywhere crave in an endless manner. "Not Now, Not Ever," may only be eight songs deep, carrying exactly 15 minutes of music, but this band uses up every second of such to bring maximum intensity. Clocking in with a sound/mindset that's sort of like a very pissed off Strike Anywhere along with slight comparisons to Give Up The Ghost, these guys just ooze with musical ferocity and lyrical integrity.

They play whatever music is currently popular, and anyone who knows them knows they are assholes. The lead singer didnt go to shows until senior year. Want to hear where their roots came from? Check out google for these bands: "The Hoodwinx" and "Park Project". They are hardcore poseurs who started with ska/pop-punk and have changed their name 4 times to finally stay with "another breath". They play whatever music is currently popular, and anyone who knows them knows they are assholes. This stuff is so generic, I can't stand it. A year and a half after the release of this, it still ficking rips. Though it's not my kind of music, I'm very proud of my nephew who is a member of this band. Comeback Kid doesn't do it right. I mean, to people who listen to lots of bands that use gang vocals, they over-do it. It gets annoying. Shout alongs are for emphasis... Not ever line has to be backed up by a hundred hardcore kids in their annoying hoodies. if you think this CD is intense, you should see these guys live. absolutely ridiculous. such gracious guys too. "Well executed gang vocals flourish as counterparts to vigorous lead vocals, and retain a smoldering effect rather than the fun, but cartoonish overbearing nature of certain bands working that sort of thing (e.g. With Honor, Comeback Kid). " Hmm, the formatting on this came out weird - the last paragraph should go into the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph. Anyway - I wasn't bashing Comeback Kid in the review, just pointing out that the gang vox are way over the top in sort of a silly way - sure I like them, but it's hardly "natural" sounding as compared to the way these guys integrate such into their songs. I can't stress enough how killer this EP is. i don't remember them in horrible pop punk bands, but i do remember them in This Neverender. i remember when these guys were all in terrible pop punk bands back in high school. hxc!!!!! Score is for bashing CK. For shame. This is great, I checked them out after reading the review on Pastepunk. Thanks Jordan. |
