OK, this was the first Strung Out album I bought. I hadn't really heard much Strung Out before I heard "Virginia Madison" on some Fat comp. The second I heard it I was blow away and I new I had to hear more. I soon went out and ordered it (I live in Denmark where it's almost impossible to find punk-rock music. Except for NOFX and Pennywise...) When it finally arrived I rushed home and popped it in my CD player. Wow, Fuck me, I couldn't believe an album could be so melodic and hard at the same time. "Too Close To See" kicked off the album with a blast! Followed by 13 other fantastic songs. Each one unique in it's own way. Complex guitars, fast and accurate drumming by Jordan (who's along with Rodrigo (one of the best punk rock drummers) and Jason phenominal voice adds extra emotion to the songs. It's kinda hard to describe Strung Out's sound. It's Punk-rock with more or less a twist of metal. In songs like "Ice Burn" you can really hear that they've focused on the metal stuff while they on songs like "Tattoo" have concentrated more on the Punk. The album ends with the song "Match Book" which is one of the best songs on the album. Amazing song. Best songs: "Too Close to See", "Mind of My Own", "Paperwalls" (a fantastic love song) and "Match Book". In other words go out and buy this album it really rocks. On my top 5 album list.

I agree with that statement, Matchbook is amazing, probably my favorite song in the world. It's so amazing live, if you've seen them. This CD is easily my favorite album or one of them. Matchbook is the finest song ever to end an album with. In my top five of all time, fuckin classic. twisted by design and STWB should have all the comments their last two albums have had. TBD should never die on here. sad. anyone with some words about a damn near perfect album? Ugh, I cant rate this high enough! My first SO album, and easily one of their best twisted by design= Masterpiece this score is for strung out. they have so many amazing releases. lyrically and musically, they own. and they switch things up, but it's always distinct. "albums" is even better because it's actually a word. my bad. one of my all-time favorite albumes. i've owned it for years and it has never spent much time away from my cd player. GOD Matchbook!!! the last comment makes no sense. Matchbook is by far one of the greatest songs ever written. Long live Strung Out! How can I not be bored of this CD by now? Personally I think this is their best (then STWB & AAP) and it would be well and truly cemented in my Top 10. Strung Out=best band on fat.....Lagwagon closely follow One of the best Cds ever! enough said This is the only Strung Out CD I own. I only really like 5 (sort of 6) songs on this CD, they're good enough to give this a rating 10. This is one of the best album I've heard in my life!!! All songs are great and it's the perfect mix between metal and punk. It's very melodic ans I like that! Strung Out fucking rocks, words can't possibly do this cd justice, every song is great Strung Out is simply fuckin' amazing. They get better with every album, and they are one of the most technical, tight bands around, punk or not. |
