OK, this was the first Strung Out album I bought. I hadn't really heard much Strung Out before I heard "Virginia Madison" on some Fat comp. The second I heard it I was blow away and I new I had to hear more. I soon went out and ordered it (I live in Denmark where it's almost impossible to find punk-rock music. Except for NOFX and Pennywise...)

When it finally arrived I rushed home and popped it in my CD player. Wow, Fuck me, I couldn't believe an album could be so melodic and hard at the same time.

"Too Close To See" kicked off the album with a blast! Followed by 13 other fantastic songs. Each one unique in it's own way. Complex guitars, fast and accurate drumming by Jordan (who's along with Rodrigo (one of the best punk rock drummers) and Jason phenominal voice adds extra emotion to the songs.

It's kinda hard to describe Strung Out's sound. It's Punk-rock with more or less a twist of metal. In songs like "Ice Burn" you can really hear that they've focused on the metal stuff while they on songs like "Tattoo" have concentrated more on the Punk.

The album ends with the song "Match Book" which is one of the best songs on the album. Amazing song.

Best songs: "Too Close to See", "Mind of My Own", "Paperwalls" (a fantastic love song) and "Match Book".

In other words go out and buy this album it really rocks. On my top 5 album list.

I agree with that statement, Matchbook is amazing, probably my favorite song in the world. It's so amazing live, if you've seen them. This CD is easily my favorite album or one of them.

this score is for strung out. they have so many amazing releases. lyrically and musically, they own. and they switch things up, but it's always distinct.

    My Score:

This is the only Strung Out CD I own. I only really like 5 (sort of 6) songs on this CD, they're good enough to give this a rating 10.

I really look more for a good tune/melody in Punk music, not just them staying on the same tune and not yelling stuff. And that's why I like this CD.

Song number 3, Deville. I'm not sure how to explain this song. You really have to listen to it. It never gets old. It's got a freaking good rythm that you can't help but sing along. I love it and I can't get enough of this song!

Song numer 5, Reason Too Believe. This is the song that actually got me into Strung Out. It's pretty dark punk but he sounds sooo cool in this song, and it's got a good tune. It's a really good song, although it has gotten kind of old but tha's just because I listened to it so much before I had the CD.

Song number 9, Ultimate Devotion. wow..............is all I can say. This song is by far one of my favorite songs ever created by man. It's really a fast beat punk song, but man has a got a tune to remember. I think anyone that doesn't like this song is frickin crazy. Just do yourself a favor and go listen to it.

Song Number 12, Tattoo. I really like this song from the chorus. It is realy catchy and I love it. It is the second best song on the CD.

Song Number 13, Just Like Me. This song is alright. It starts of dark and him singing low and gets into a a chorus that has almost no tune whatsoever. I really just like it because of all of the song BESIDES the chorus.

    Get this CD......... yes, now.

Strung Out is simply fuckin' amazing. They get better with every album, and they are one of the most technical, tight bands around, punk or not.
