Besides having the fruitiest album cover ever, they spell their name with the number eight. Two strikes against them already. But boy oh boy is this fun to listen to. Have you ever wanted to be in a band just to have something fun to do? That's basically the philosophy of this trio. Fast, power chord skate punk with metal/hardcore riffs tossed in every now and then that tends to get off tempo at times with the drums lines this album track after track. They come off as more of a joke band with lyrics either praising skateboarding, denouncing rollerblading, or telling you to get into the pit.

While it seems fairly cheesy, it's all very tongue-in-cheek. All the songs were recorded live with vocal overdubs. Song titles include: "Sk8 or Die is Go!" "Skate Youth," "Friends Don't Let Friends Rollerblade," and "Sk8 Hymn." I mean, c'mon, it's hard to take this band seriously, and I'm sure it's hard for them to take themselves seriously.

I can't help but love the concept, though. Three guys want to rock, so they do. They have a good time, and they don't let things like playing on time or not sucking get in their way. Kudos to these fine young gentlemen for keeping punk rock dirty, raw, and not about girls.

P.S. Sk8 Hymn is a parody of Pennywise's "Bro Hymn." Comic genius.

well, speeeaking of hip hop, can you be a pal and namedrop a few that you're into? i've been getting into it a lot more lately, but im too ignorant of the music to know who to start with...i like the shit with a message, ya know?

Oh, buddy, that's where you go wrong. I don't skate now, on acocunt of me being too busy, you know, not being active, but I was big into skating a few years back before every other 7th grade suburbanite had a deck. You really can't take these lyrics seriously. Besides, I usually listened to hip-hop when I hit my deck. I got better flow from it.

I'll agree with the last comment. "You cum guzzllng fruitcakes, I hope you break your fucking necks!" Yeah, he's talking about rollerbladers.

The MP3s are decent, but still, the best ever pro-skateboarding, anti-inline song would have to be Guttermouth's “Do The Hustle” from Musical Monkey.

Skateshop Rodney looked like a punk Dangerfield. I've always wondered if they did it on purpose or if it was just me

i remember this band from mp3.com

    SK8 OR DIE IS GOOOOOO!

and then it was like "inline skaters is something i don't like". They're right up there with "a band in all hope" and their "the novelty slut song"...but yeah, that song was probably better, hell, it's probably the best song ever. SHE'S A BITCH, SHE'S A SLUT, BET SHE TAKES IT IN THE BUTT *fart*.

does anyone else remember the game Sk8 or Die for the good ol' NES? well it's ok if you don't, because Sk8 or Die 2 was a better game. if you played Ramp and did a sweet trick, a girl would blow you kisses from her window. Priceless.
