Shit man. Yeah, we get it. You like Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, and Converge. But there comes a point where song writing takes precedent over showing how amazing your musical skills are. I mean fuck, you're playing everything dead on, but it still sounds sloppy. And you've got to do something about the lyrics dude. I mean, "You took the words right from my mouth, you stole my breath with the look in your eye/this life is not for me/you shook my heart with one look, took my soul with three words." If you follow the songs along, you'll find out these are BREAK-UP songs. Yeah, I know, right? Metalcore should be about skulls and blood and dying (yet even now that's become a cliché faux-pas). I wouldn't say that I don't like it; I sure do appreciate the musicianship. But I mean, c'mon. There comes a point where you just have to say, "Why the hell do our songs make no sense rhythmically?" It's like being in math class (thanks Will). This EP could definitely use some better lyrics and more coherent song writing. Eh, maybe give the vocals a change up too. They kind of sound like the dude is barking in German. Anyway, this is extremely technical metalcore by the book. It's not bad, but I think it definitely has room for improvement, which is why I'm only giving it a 6. I bet this band would do better to tone it down. They need to make sure that their next release focuses on the simpler side of music because I don't think this band COULD get any harder or faster. Please login or register to post comments. these guys are good kissers. Especially rye. Hes a heartbreaker. Oh yeah. this guy who wrote the main review is a dumbass. this music isn't meant to be written with "rhythm" or "solidness". this shit is meant to be 100% insanity. there actually are tight rythmic parts thrown in it which gives it a good variation. he obvioulsy doesn't seem to get down with crucial shit like this. i really dont care about the lyrics being that i dont hear what hes screaming at me. dillinger isnt really that insane when compared to alot of other bands. so if u think dillinger is your limit for insanity, or u dont liek dillinger at all. dont check this one out. but if u like it raw in the ass, and are a fan of the infamous "Ed Gein" trio, give this cd a look see. second time was at a gay porno musical, it was hilarous...and in utah. hardcore gay porno in musical form. Lot of circle jerking and snowballing, awesome, 1800 people in attendence (in audience, not in the circle jerk) "score is for the 1980 movie of the same name starring malcolm mcdowell and peter o'toole. the movie was made by bob guccione (penthouse magazine) and was the first (and only) hollywood porno." appointing your favorite horse to the senate was classic. Isn't Lye By Mistake on the same label as these guys? Listen to them instead, this is really nothing special. RIP Rodney Dangerfield I really liked this EP, but I agree with Jesse that it certainly lacks focus; it is possible to do extremely complex, chaotic music without losing some form of (albeit non-traditional) structure; Ion Dissonance is a great example of a band which manages that. I dropped Algebra II and am currently in a study hall. score is for the 1980 movie of the same name starring malcolm mcdowell and peter o'toole. the movie was made by bob guccione (penthouse magazine) and was the first (and only) hollywood porno. |
