I think the first thing that attracted me to listen to these guys was there name. "Blue Skies At War" is just such a catchy name. I then picked up the CD a little while ago having never heard any recordings, but seeing them live a couple times. I liked what i heard so i picked up the CD.

hey, i like 'em. I will listen to anything that is recommended for fans of Grade, Hot Water Music, Planes Mistaken For Stars, & Small Brown Bike this band name sucks big time. yup. two bad. autumn never fails, match like halo, headboard serenade, crumple donkey and the morse brigade, ummm set my prairie heart a flutter. c'mon gang, naming a shitty band is fun! and easy! I am Holly McNarland n I am so punk rock!! I have 4 tattoos! Holly McNarland--> http://www.canadiancelebs.com/HOLLY.JPG This Album is just as amazing now as it was when they made it 2 years ago, two bad you're all just noticing them now. Tim from Punkinternational.com panned the fuck out of this, and was then bombarded with hate mail from the band's uber-loyal, uber-underage girl fanbase. Quite hilarious. Holly McNarland? That bitch is still around?!?!? What about Lisa Loeb? this band is the epitome of everything wrong with the glut of hardcore/emocore/post hardcore/screamo bands we have today. and if its any indication, we get a few reviews every week from these copycat bands. from the ridiculously cheesy name to the even more ridiculous lyrics like "i choked on every word i've said to you my death angel" and "desert sand bleeding" i can only guess when this fad is going to end quickly and a new fad can begin. throw on some girl pants and go fucking die. |
