Yeah this DVD/EP really sucks ass and there new album PANIC is terrible as well. God, I hate MxPx. I got some sort of greatest hits CD by them when I just started getting into punk (Coincidentally, only 3 years ago). Now, I can't stand them. CAN'T STAND IT. oh, score is for them being Christian. so what if this is pop-punk. so what if the sell out. for all the musicians out there this is their living. they wanna make money to and live a decent life. all there music is good. they take music to a whole new level. even though they sing pop-punk they do it well unlike bands like GC and blink. why dont u guys grow up and appriciate a band for what its worth. as far as i know i thought i heard my 5 month old cousin playing nofx on guitar thats how much their musik sucks No matter who it is about "everything sucks when you're gone" is still a vapid lyric. And I wouldn't call it mature either. Let It Happen was a solid release. Especially for a collection of B-sides. haha, out of all beverages you chose sprite? "at least mxpx doesn't sound like someone shoved a lawnmover down their throats and spilled sprite in their equipment oh man, i used to play that chick magnet bass riff all the time in my band in 9th grade. My bandmates would get mad at me and then we'd all thrash into a blink cover. I'll never get those golden afternoons back. at least mxpx doesn't sound like someone shoved a lawnmover down their throats and spilled sprite in their equipment "Chick Magnet" is a pretty fun song on MxPx's live record, which is both fast and consistent. Pick it up if you see it selling at a cheap price. "The songs on their last album were referred to as "vapid" by an earlier commentator; Mike wrote a lot of those songs for his wife." MxPx has matured over the years, while it appears that many of you have not. The songs on their last album were referred to as "vapid" by an earlier commentator; Mike wrote a lot of those songs for his wife. Perhaps, you cannot appreciate the grown up sound and lyrics of the new MxPx, I can understand that. This DVD was never intended to be full of live footage. They wanted to present a behind the scenes look at the band, which covered the time after their last video, 'It Came From Bremerton.' I can also appreciate that many listeners do not appreciate the acoustic EP. Most of it is not my style, but it is valuable to me, as a fan of their music. Sometimes, a band just grows up faster than the fans. "someone put on chick magnet the other day. how did that shit get released, let alone become something of a hit?" someone put on chick magnet the other day. how did that shit get released, let alone become something of a hit? It's pretty Awesome that all you guys would spend the time to comment and/or purchase the DVD/CD. MxPx have been a working band 12 years. They do it for a living thanks to all you guys who give a shit sandwich to buy and review this item. If it's so bad, save your breathe dummies!! They still don't care, They still sell records, They still sell tickets, They still tour and records the songs they want to write and play for themselves and their fans. The score is for how stupid the review. Fuck You Haters!! I always feel bad for MxPx....they've watched all their peers get huge followings and various degrees of success, while they hop from label to label and their records tank. the score is for your review because i agree with you Come on guys....a fast pace....a catchy chorus and simple but stellar lyrics....you've done it a few times before...why can't you do it again? this dvd was pretty shitty. for $6.00 brand new, i didn't feel too ripped off though. their last cd has to be the worst cd i have ever heard in my life. amazing that this is the band that put out teenage politics and life in general. Why is it that as Mike got older his lyrics got worse? Yeah, I'd imagine this shit would lick ass. Man, i got their Fat EP, and you're right, it was terrible. I must say their live CD kills, but they haven't had a decent CD since, (and that's being generous, especially to the Ever Passing Moment...) Two words: Shit sandwich. MXPX gives me headaches. I agree with whoever said they were probably rushing..they were probably rushing to write nearly all of their songs. They are all vapid and have absolutely no substance,. Some good covers though. They should just stop writing lyrics I guess. I would say the MXPX cut of age is 14. Having listened to the acoustic version of "Invatation To Understanding" on their myspace.com site and enjoying it thoroughly, I'll wager that the acoustic CD/EP will be pretty good. Grey skies turn blue and Silver Screen are really suckie though. I would recommend trying to get ahold of those acoustic songs if you are a fan... "I, for one, will be waiting for the MxPx comeback album, when they start playing more harder stuff... I, for one, will be waiting for the MxPx comeback album, when they start playing more harder stuff... its just BAD. I can't understand what the hell went wrong with these guy. why would you buy it if you think they are shitty? i bought it for $9 - cheap but shitty. This review kicks ass This dvd sucks and the acoustic songs are gay! "Where will we go" was featured in full band form at the end of their VHS release "It came from Bremerton" Now-the song in question was stated during the end credits to be included on the bands upcoming "Ever Passing Moment" disc. It wasn't included, who knows why. This song is a prime example of Mike's 2000 era Elvis Costello infatuation-the first time I heard it on that video tape I WAS FLOORED, at the time no bands of this genre were using melodys of that style. Amazing song in my opinion, haven't heard the acoustic rendition, I don't think I want to. i'm 24, which is above the legal age to listen to mxpx...even though they are 27 now. "I'm begining to think Life in General was ripped-off, plagiarized or some sick anomaly. This stuff is terrible. " This doesn't deserve an 8th of a star. Seriously. This stuff is crap. it's decent, but I've seen bnads have DVDs who have been together for two years and it had more stuff. A really good music dvd though is the bouncing souls' dvd, that is one of the best i've seen. I think this was rushed because the band signed to SideOne and wanted to get something out quick. They could probably make a very nice (and packed full) DVD if they really tried; they've certainly been around long enough to. shit sandwitch ? I hope the dvd is more original than the review. I have to disagree.....the ep is worth the price alone. If you are a fan of MXPX you will really like it. If you have never been into MXPX then you probably wont be picking this up either way. Yeah, I'd imagine this shit would lick ass. I gotta hand it to the band for staying friends all this time. |
