This album will punch you in the face, plain and simple. There's really no two ways about it. Before Daughters came about, some of its members were spending their days in the now-defunct As The Sun Sets. As The Sun Sets was not a long-lived band, having released only three full-lengths, this being the second of them. The band split shortly after 2002's 8949 and are more often than not completely overlooked because of all the hype surrounding Daughters. Unfortunate, really, because, damn, could this band make some noise.

can any1 identify the intro to their cd "each individual voice is dead." it starts out with a sum sfx, random talking, guy breathing heavy, then he says the show i was referring to was at the knitting factory in nyc. it was read yellow, daughters, planes mistaken for stars and dillinger. all in all a great show. excluding daughters of course. jd, what city was that daughters show in? they did the same fucking thing at the troubadour show in hollywood opening for dillinger I get you and that BrizzleBizzle guy mixed up When have I ever said, or implied I like Terror? Yet you like Terror... Hmm. I've always said Remembering Never is the worst band you could ever see live. to the awesome dude below me... just a quick note: daughters were a fucking trainwreck live. the singer was pathetic. started bitching about how someone should buy him a drink after their first 6 second song. some girl jean wearing roadie sprinted off to the bar and comes back with a vodka and cranberry(?lame?), which the pathetic screamer man nursed for the entire 11 minute set. their first lp is brilliant. this is just mediocre i love the shit out of this album. i think i may like Each Individual Voice...a bit better, but i haven't listened to it enough, so for now, my favor will go to this one. i haven't heard anything from their last album, though. My bad on who released this, it's Undecided Records, not Trash Art! fast, heavy, and lyrics you can't make out. i'm interested. |
