| AntifreezeFour Letter Words2001 Kung Fu
Review by: Eddie See others by this writer AntifreezeOnline.com (link) Only registered users can post comments Published on July 15th 2001 Here's a band I first found out about at the Warped Tour in Somerset, Wisconsin. After seeing their incredibly awesome show, I knew I had to get the CD. And I wasn't disapointed. They are very talented, and have a great fast, catchy, pop-punk sound. The lyrics are pretty cool, as are the vocals, when coming from guitar player Jon Hietpas (whose voice reminds me of Mike Herrera of MxPx). But the vocals aren't as great coming from bass guitarist Tim Crowley, who sounds slightly like Jordan Pundik of New Found Glory. That is, if Pundik was a few years younger with a higher voice. Of the fourteen tracks, The best songs on the CD that stand out from the rest, definitely are "Question...", "Is He Your Boyfriend?", "Bankruptcy," "On and On," and "Ordinary." The songs that definitely aren't the best, but still are very cool songs would be "Fortune's Fool," "Fell On Deaf Ears," and "Sorry From Your Friend." Overall, Antifreeze is a fantastic band, and I hope they continue to become more popular, because they definitely deserve some attention. And by the way, if you ever get a chance to see one of their concerts, definitely check it out. They put on a great show. Please login or register to post comments. "nice comment for the guy below me. your a jackass and how you got that analogy no one will ever know. oh and the band antifreeze they rock. who else has 3 singers in their band and i agree with the guy about the keyboards they also use a violin in one of their songs. just plain awesome." Sometimes this shit can get annoying but most of the time it's really good. They are a really talented band. Even though they wear there influences on there sleves this is still a great listen so buy the cd. garbage Antifreeze is from my home town appleton WI. and man does this band rock. see them every time they come back to the Appleicious town of appleton. whe nytou meet the guys personally and realize that they hung out with ur older brother they become cooler. the best song is "Sorry From your Friend" by far nice comment for the guy below me. your a jackass and how you got that analogy no one will ever know. oh and the band antifreeze they rock. who else has 3 singers in their band and i agree with the guy about the keyboards they also use a violin in one of their songs. just plain awesome. Fathead- Antifreeze doesn't sound anything like the Ataris, they sound more like if you took Nofx and shot their drummer in the knee and then made them play in the janitor's closet of my old elementary school, oh and anarchy Adam, you're just full of shit. very good cd and i dont see why everyone is bitter at bands for singing about girls. i like shit that i can relate to and believe me i relate to women so screw you gay people that theink the only good music is about the government and all that shit. fuck off. Very cool CD. They have lots of originality. I hadn't heard these guys when I bought the CD, But I figured, "Hey, what the fuck, why not?". I found this album to be okay, but at the same time really dissapointing somehow. I guess I was expecting something more. If they rip off anyone, its MxPx, not the ataris. Oh well... Blech. I saw this band at Warped in Chicago and immediately bought their CD. I haven't listened to it yet, but their three different singers [plus a left handed drummer! Rock!] and catchy riffs equal a band to watch out for. And frankly, I didn't think they sounded like the Ataris at all. the review didn't even mention the keyboards they use. it adds a nice touch. i've only heard a few songs by them, and they sound alot like ataris, but it is a debut and i say we'll hear more from antifreeze in the future.- fathead A higher voice than the dude from New Found Glory? What the fuck? Does this guy also have no gonads? Yeah, I was pretty excited when I read it was produced by Kris Roe. But I don't think the vocals are loud enough in the mix, and although there are a couple of really, really good songs, the rest are pretty standard stuff. But I guess if they've got a good live show, good luck to them. Great CD if you love bands who shamelessly rip off the Ataris, sing cliche songs about girls, and possess no originality. |
