Aggressive street punk/hardcore in the vein of older Unseen, Action's self-titled debut is a quick bout of the aforementioned for those in need of half an hour of the somewhat throwback style. Though I'd imagine this would work a lot better live with the gang-led choruses of tracks like "Man's Law," "Rise," and "Warzone," the Punkcore outfit is still very competent in the musicianship department, and as far as street punk goes, writes political lyrics to the standards you'd expect, maybe even a bit higher ("Fighting the capitalists / fighting the west / putting your faith to the test / just a pawn, just a whore / in a fictitious holy war").

apparently no one on this site knows who conflict is..........whoever wrote this review knows nothing about this kind of punk....(and also doesn't play any instruments, there's some highly accomplished playing on this record). i really like this cd i wish it was longer though other than that it is awesome toronto hardcore punk represent mother fucker. For a second I thought this was that one band Action Action, but it's even shitter music. Punk rock is lame. Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros? Death From Above? I'll abstain from commenting on the latter band because I despite them, but I think you gave Strummer a 10 out of sentimental value. Streetcore featured some pretty weak songwriting in comparison to the first two albums. To paraphrase Pitchfork, some of the songs wandered into No Doubt territory. "I have a hard time believing something that got a 6 is worth checking out." well that last comment just about sed it all. BRian, Shut the FRUCK up you drunk pasdurbitch! I have a hard time believing something that got a 6 is worth checking out. this is certainly not the band i expected. Action Action must be pissed! they remind me of cleaner american steel. i hate this record label's name. punkcore. sounds like it was named by an eighth grader This band actually has intelligent lyrics. I don't know if it's good enough to buy, though. action / action & action tour coming your way soon |
