Here you will find 12 hardcore songs in 14 minutes by two different bands. Legs Up, from Long Island, is hardcore in the early 80's sense, and Richmond, Virginia’s My War is more on the metallic side and more political lyrically, but could fit into the 80's style as well.

" poorly written points / with borrowed beliefs Hey, read some other reviews of the record and make your mind up for yourself: reviews my war is really good band and they are nice guys. Never listened to these bands...but My War better be damn good to live up to the name of the greatest hardcore song ever recorded. Check out Admi Peterson's Arme' if you want to hear perfect black flag worship. Production, guitar sound, vocals...you'll swear its the second coming of early flag. I check out the mp3s, and this seemed really good. They get to sell them too! do you get to keep the records they send you to review? do you get to keep the records they send you to review? If it sounds anything remotely like the chap below me said it would, then I'll definitely be checking this out in the near future. Trust me, James from State Of Mind Rec. sent me this disc to review and it's fucking great! Legs Up play very solid modern hardcore somewhere between the lines of The Suicide File and Scraps And Heart Attacks, so hardcore-kids should be difinitely into them. My War are fucking intense , but some people just don't get it. Think of a dirtier version of Turmoil, so expect some great breakdowns and scary vocals. gregorb, you lose I'm usually not too critical because you guys put so much work into this site, and i'm just some douchebag, but this dude reviewing this makes no sense. Sending a hardcore record to someone that will give them a low rating 95% of the time is really no help to anyone. I'm from Richmond and have never heard of My War, though it is my favorite Black Flag song. I have Legs Up's demo, and it's pretty good, but I was kind of indifferent on their side here. |
