My honest opinion is that the Aloha Films Group is slightly mismarketing their product. Beyond Warped does not focus too much on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the tour; instead, it follows the standard path for documentaries about one of the most successful festivals in the history of music with performances and short interviews.

the cover i dont get the album is ..trashy but some good songs. and yes it has alwasy been corporatte, nor have i ever cared about that, shit, i see a lot of 'punx' drinking dasani water at shows and hitting up subway afterwards. who fucking cares. and yes it has alwasy been corporatte, nor have i ever cared about that, shit, i see a lot of 'punx' drinking dasani water at shows and hitting up subway afterwards. who fucking cares. "I'm so punx i went to the first warped, that means it was the best... Did i mentioned how punx i am, im fuckin punx to da max" "most successful festivals in the history of music" "I saw Orange 9mm at warped and they blew every other band there out of the water....for several years afterward." Saucy Jack is the sax player, Brandon Heart Attack is the trombone player for the Rebels actually fuckface, if you look far enough back, before it was dominated by Epitaph and Fat bands, you see headliners are bands like L7, Quicksand and SNFU, who were tiny in comparison to Offspring, Bad Religion and Rancid. the tour gets worse by the year but maybe you can't see it because your head is so far up kevin lyman's ass GET IT RIGHT PEOPLE!!!! Stop fucking acting like "oh it's been on a decline from 96 or 97 or 98". FUCK YOU. This tour has ALWAYS been incorporated with Vans. Yes, the first year was as well. I didn't have a problem with it then or now. While I agree that the quality of lineup has been questionable, it's still Warped. I find it comical that people think in 96 or 97 there were no corporate sponsors and that it was an underground festival. Kind of an oxymoron right? I have went every year except for 2002 and I don't bitch about how cool it was the year before. STOP WHINING ABOUT HOW MUCH IT SUCKS AND JUST BUY YOUR TICKET ALREADY. You know your going anyways. Shit cover. Sounds like a decent DVD, if I can scrape the money together. civ hoses bad religion down like that gay dude in the story below "mexican sweatshops" i went for the first time in 97 and over 7 years I've had the pleasure of witnessing a solid punk rock festival decline into a crass, commercialized version of what it was supposed to be. Last year I showed up late and missed Tiger Army's set because I couldn't find the main stage through the unbelievable number of merch booths. I'm not joking, it was unreal. The people behind warped have seen its economic potential and now that's what they're worried about- cashing in. If it's about the music, like they claim it is, why not set up the merch booths in the parkiing lot so if you want to grab a shirt you can do it on your way in or out, instead of being surrounded by it while trying to check out a band. People can defend it all they want, but warped is put on by Vans, a company who makes their shoes in mexican sweatshops. What would make you not think that warped is about the people at the top lining their pockets? The warped tour sucks. The first Warped I ever went to was 98, and it was by far the best lineup I have seen (I have been to all of them since) "most successful festivals in the history of music" "I saw FEAR at '01 and they played well.....but Lee Ving is a racist bastard and he looked like somebodies grandmother. Fuck warped....get's worse evey year." is this guy joking?warped was good cause of civ, seaweed, quicksand?rush 2 the nearest store and buy a bad religion cd and come back I'm so punx i went to the first warped, that means it was the best... Did i mentioned how punx i am, im fuckin punx to da max! the cover looks like a dead body with a bad manicure. what did they say about it? I totally forgot to mention the Phenomenauts, I smell. Haha, that cover rules. Totally not the one on my copy. WTF is this? i can name at least 10 awesome bands that played last year and they're nowhere to be found on this shitty dvd. I went to 3 warped tours back after i graduated from HS ('99,'00,'01) and they all pretty much sucked. Pennywise was average live, and at the time i was a fan of theirs (didnt last long) and everything else blew. I saw FEAR at '01 and they played well.....but Lee Ving is a racist bastard and he looked like somebodies grandmother. Fuck warped....get's worse evey year. Orange 9mm beyond crap is more like it. this is laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. maybe one or two good bands buttttttt what a stinka. The first year was the best year because of quality bands. The first year you got to see Quicksand, Orange 9mm, Sick of it All, Civ, Seaweed.......just a great tour. The choice of bands for the past couple years has really sucked. The overall quality of the Warped tour has dropped off more and more every year to the point that its unwatchable/unlistenable. good review, i wanna pick it up. i've always been kinda curious how the set up works, plus the live performances sound cool too. I saw Orange 9mm at warped and they blew every other band there out of the water....for several years afterward. Hmmm.... "this tour is just a mere shell of its greatness from years ago." this tour is just a mere shell of its greatness from years ago. thats not the cover on mine Worst package design ever. That's the sluttiest cover not pertaining to the product its for I have ever seen. I feel like licking that bellybutton. that cover...gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah What the fuck is up with that cover? How were the Phenomenauts portions? And did it say what dates the different things were filmed at? In the trailer it looks like the Phenomenauts footage came from the Chicago date. |
