I am super impressed with this album. I couldnt stand their first record...but this CD is just such a good Rock/Emo CD. Its very dreamy...and its got a storyline which is pretty cool.

I bought this yesterday just for shits and giggles at Target. It is MUCH better than I expected it to be.

when i first bought this cd and starting to listen to it adn i didnt like them very much but, after i listened to every track and i got pretty into it i think it is a good cd , and also the song (remember to feel real) is a great song , i recomend that track to everyone who buys the cd,
but dont expect the band to sound the same as their first cd , because this cd is veryt different than their first,
i also recommend their first cd (dream to make believe)
its a great cd.

for those who do care, this CD has a secret track (0), which you can hear by putting it in a real cd player and rewinding it at the very beginning, so that track 1 goes into negative digits. this song supposedly represents the suicide note. its short and is only so-so in terms of quality.

also, there is an exclusive extra song that you can only get if you download the entire album off of the itunes store, which is a ripoff, especially for those of us who took the time to preorder the cd and are now screwed.

the score is for AFS kind of selling out to itunes.

if you want to listen to a good concept album listen to the wall by pink floyd. oh wait you kids dont like real music i forgot.

This album is good background music whilst reading and the like but nothing spectacular.

actually, this is twice armor has come to me personally asking me to do their work because i'm pretty good at what i do - i'm a graphic design major at an art school and the top in my class at that. if you know anything about creating work in photoshop, you'd know the cover art really isn't oustandingly hard. while i have the utmost respect for asterik studio (who did the work, check out the rest of their stuff at asterikstudio.com), my respect for this band is nonexistant.

it's just really messed up, how badly this band interacts with those who are supposed to help it out. while i've never been a fan of their music, i at least wanted to help them out by doing them a favor... designers get paid big bucks to do stuff like this (which i think is unfair... bands work hard and don't make a lot fo money).

blah, i'm just bitter, but at the same time, if you're part of a "scene" that "supports itself", you shouldn't royally fuck people who are just trying to help you out.

anyway sorry for the off topic rant. i just hate it when little kids who know very little about what they're talking about pretend to behind the vast shield of anonymity that is the internerd.

Although i do like this cd... i disagree with the most of you... i like the first album better....i think this album has more tendency to sound like a lot of other things which is why i like dthem to begin with is because they didn't. I'm up to song 7 so far, and at this point I pretty much agree with the review. I haven't been listening close enough to pay much attention to the lyrics, but I know some of them were downright abysmal on the last album, so I don't doubt anybody on that. Definitely a huge improvement. I was really bummed after hearing the new Over It, but this has lifted me back up a little.

i'm sorry but everything about this band rubs me the wrong way. the nasally vocals, the uncreative and boring melodies, the lack luster lyrics...

concept albums are apparently the "hip" new thing to do, the problem is the people putting them out don't have the talent to make a good one.

if you're looking for a good "concept" album, listen to Control by Pedro the Lion.

I'm torn with what score to give this release. On one hand, the record is such a phenomenal improvement on their first that the new album deserves at least a 7 or an 8.

On the other hand, this record is basically an "off-record" for any of "emo-rock" standard-bearers.

In conclusion, it's kinda like a retarded kid learning how to tie his shoes at age 15. We're all super-proud that he was able to do it, but he's so far behind the rest of the pack that we have to wonder if it's really worth encouraging him anymore.

when i said 'now that fairweather broke up, their schtick is up', i meant fairweather was (in my opinion, of course) the only good band keeping that label from being to nu-emo-rock what Prank is to spazzcore. having met fairweather, knowing what killer guys they are, their good records, and putting on a show for them, my opinion of EVR was 'good label' up until the AFS deal i mentioned earlier, which, since the show was first cancelled by the band itself, then followed up by a call from "Rich" or "Rick" (or whoever) from EVR confirming the following:

1. the show is cancelled
2. they want any and all promo materials back (at my cost)
3. any money i'd already received (i.e. presales) EVR was entitled to 60% of
4. if i didn't comply, they'd sic their lawyers on me

...basically put the bad taste in my mouth. i was bummed that they cancelled, but the fact that they rubbed it in my face that they'd found "a better venue" (i.e. "your place sucks") and then bullied me to give them 30 or so posters, some stickers, a promo CD, etc. back to them (overnight delivery, no less!) basically pissed me off.

i never sent the promo stuff back, hocked the CD at a local record shop, and used the $3 i got to buy a roll of angel soft that i wiped my ass with. i got a letter about a week later asking for the promo material, return address was EVR, but mailed from CA, not where EVR is located... a phone call turns out it was some company in CA called "Consolidated, Corporate, something something, Inc.". so as to what major they're owned by, hell if i know, probably Sony. but they certainly don't "act" like an indie label.

put it this way, when i call Fat, i can talk to Mike if i have a problem. when i call EVR, they tell me to call their lawyers.

The album title should be in a CPR textbook.

somehow i don't think fairweather breaking up had anything to do with their new found desire to release awful music. i've been following the label for about 5 years now and it seems like they've just gotten worse and worse over time. the fact that they've got more money now (for ads in print and on tv) seems to go along with how bad some of the music is they release.... any idea on what major label dick is involved? i know they're distributed through RED (owned by SONY). :)

As I've said before, lyrics are really important to be, and this band has some atrocious ones, but I find myself really enjoying this record. It's just fun.

the cover looks a lot like the cover to the book "Death of an Ordinary Man" by Glen Duncan.

This album is really good. If you don't get the whole concept of the album then you aren't going to enjoy it much. It's not amazingly excellent but definitely good and worth getting.

If you don't like it, that's fine, but don't be ignorant enough to write it off just because your individual opinion is that the band sucks in general.

Listen to this album and fuck off to the naysayers. They can eat their own shit and go listen to whatever cock rock they are into nowadays.
