Let me make one thing perfectly clear before I begin to dissect this album: this is not the Armor For Sleep you heard on Dream To Make Believe, so put aside all your preconcieved notions. I'm not sure if it was the insane amount of ads floating around on news sites, zines, etc., or if it was the fact that the band's rabid fanbase seemed to elevate them to this sort of god-like status, or I could have just been bored. Whatever the case was, I am glad that I didn't completely write them off after their last record, because the band completely reinvented themselves with this latest release.

Score is for the last song on this CD this album is awesome i love armor for sleep how come many of you don't like them? this album is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! this album is insane, i cant believe so many of you dont llike it ! 1 alright song = 1 star. Don't buy this album. Don't support this band. If you see these douchebags in the street... spit on them. I love it, and everything about AFS. sick album.i love the entire thing solid cd. it's got it's ups and downs, but solid nonetheless. for associating afs with posers because its getting popular. whatever, I like AMS and you said you did too, so why did you start your shit again? No I don't live your lifestyle. fuck you man, just becase you follow me around this website and say shit about everything i say doesn't make you cool. So stop with the bullshit and how about you put some shit on here that people actually want to read instead of telling me to OD and everything. Go suck a dick Dude, LD, please STFU. this is a great CD, i love the songs The Truth About Heaven and Akward Last Words, i also love Car Underwater but its starting to be put all over the place! i hate POSERS! AFS is awesome I am super impressed with this album. I couldnt stand their first record...but this CD is just such a good Rock/Emo CD. Its very dreamy...and its got a storyline which is pretty cool. I bought this yesterday just for shits and giggles at Target. It is MUCH better than I expected it to be. when i first bought this cd and starting to listen to it adn i didnt like them very much but, after i listened to every track and i got pretty into it i think it is a good cd , and also the song (remember to feel real) is a great song , i recomend that track to everyone who buys the cd, the only reason why these dudes need armor for sleeping is because of the crazy amount of wet dreams and bed wetting these guys got going on. i dont even need to listen to this to know it blows. "this album is good. but anyway, for the people who are always saying 'this sucks, go buy this instead' .. the records you recommend have nothing in common with this one. so why would anyone who likes afs want to listen to the thunderbirds or paint it black? if you're going to recommend something, at least make it in the same genre of music as the one you're telling them to avoid." Nothing from the latest release by Juliana can be described as "done well" this album is good. but anyway, for the people who are always saying 'this sucks, go buy this instead' .. the records you recommend have nothing in common with this one. so why would anyone who likes afs want to listen to the thunderbirds or paint it black? if you're going to recommend something, at least make it in the same genre of music as the one you're telling them to avoid. Save your money and buy the new Thunderbirds Are Now! instead. "hey Colin, that's funny, i booked a show with these guys, and everything was fine until about a week before, when they called to cancel for a "better venue" and even had the nerve to ask me to mail them their promo posters back. fuckers. for those who do care, this CD has a secret track (0), which you can hear by putting it in a real cd player and rewinding it at the very beginning, so that track 1 goes into negative digits. this song supposedly represents the suicide note. its short and is only so-so in terms of quality. if you want to listen to a good concept album listen to the wall by pink floyd. oh wait you kids dont like real music i forgot. this band may actually be worse than the juliana theory, thats quite an acomplishment! "We're all super-proud that he was able to do it, but he's so far behind the rest of the pack that we have to wonder if it's really worth encouraging him anymore. I was making sure that was the case...but thanks btw staff...can you fix my name on the review Scott is the new Jason Tate. Stop being a cockass. "hahaha, well if you're artwork is anything like your reviews, it's cause they suck dick colin. Go fuck yourself you faggot. Although i do like this cd... i disagree with the most of you... i like the first album better....i think this album has more tendency to sound like a lot of other things which is why i like dthem to begin with is because they didn't. Still a good CD though...I saw them about a week or so ago and they put on a very good show. there's no track 0 to whomever said there was. "In conclusion, it's kinda like a retarded kid learning how to tie his shoes at age 15. We're all super-proud that he was able to do it, but he's so far behind the rest of the pack that we have to wonder if it's really worth encouraging him anymore. " if you're looking for a good "concept" album, listen to Control by Pedro the Lion. this is a score for this terrible review. how can you review an album so tied to a concept and know nothing about that concept? I'm up to song 7 so far, and at this point I pretty much agree with the review. I haven't been listening close enough to pay much attention to the lyrics, but I know some of them were downright abysmal on the last album, so I don't doubt anybody on that. Definitely a huge improvement. I was really bummed after hearing the new Over It, but this has lifted me back up a little. ack people enjoy this? I'm torn with what score to give this release. On one hand, the record is such a phenomenal improvement on their first that the new album deserves at least a 7 or an 8. this is a score for this terrible review. how can you review an album so tied to a concept and know nothing about that concept? when i said 'now that fairweather broke up, their schtick is up', i meant fairweather was (in my opinion, of course) the only good band keeping that label from being to nu-emo-rock what Prank is to spazzcore. having met fairweather, knowing what killer guys they are, their good records, and putting on a show for them, my opinion of EVR was 'good label' up until the AFS deal i mentioned earlier, which, since the show was first cancelled by the band itself, then followed up by a call from "Rich" or "Rick" (or whoever) from EVR confirming the following: The album title should be in a CPR textbook. Wow. It's pretty sad that you don't understand the artwork. It definitely has everything to do with the lyrics. It's a concept album. Maybe you should READ THE LYRICS again, pal. btw staff...can you fix my name on the review score is for the cover artwork...I failed to mention it...maybe b/c it has nothing to do with the music...but it's cool anyway somehow i don't think fairweather breaking up had anything to do with their new found desire to release awful music. i've been following the label for about 5 years now and it seems like they've just gotten worse and worse over time. the fact that they've got more money now (for ads in print and on tv) seems to go along with how bad some of the music is they release.... any idea on what major label dick is involved? i know they're distributed through RED (owned by SONY). :) It's average, the songs all start the same, and sound the same. Sounds like 2,568 other bands. If it was on the radio I wouldn't change the channel, but I wouldn't go buy it. "this is the second time this band has asked me to do the artwork for their album and, halfway through the process, decided to just stop calling me. never paid me a dime." Score is for the guy who said Prevent Falls. As I've said before, lyrics are really important to be, and this band has some atrocious ones, but I find myself really enjoying this record. It's just fun. the cover looks a lot like the cover to the book "Death of an Ordinary Man" by Glen Duncan. prevent falls The guy from earlier hit it, the lyrics on this release suck. Good cd and good band, but horrible, horrible lyrics. This is crap!! Go get the new Paint it Black instead! "this is the second time this band has asked me to do the artwork for their album and, halfway through the process, decided to just stop calling me. never paid me a dime." Good review. I don't have the album, though. this is the second time this band has asked me to do the artwork for their album and, halfway through the process, decided to just stop calling me. never paid me a dime. "The vocals are, well, how can I say this...less pussy-ish than on the band's debut." This album is really good. If you don't get the whole concept of the album then you aren't going to enjoy it much. It's not amazingly excellent but definitely good and worth getting. Compelling narrative, vocals that are both impassioned and intelligent, and beautiful presentation. Might be the best record I've heard so far this year. Long live Armor For Sleep. They stole the cover art from MIB: III after it got shelved. "The vocals are, well, how can I say this...less pussy-ish than on the band's debut." i think the whole concept of the album is fantastic. kudos to this band for being awesome. I think there are many instances where judging the book by the cover is completely warranted. Completely generic on all counts, too photoshopped looking, man in suit with face hidden? Gimme a break. pssssssssh |
