The "Tessie" stuff went over great during St. Patrick's Day, especially with an intro from Bronson Arroyo to set up the A-Rod stuff, but I am not sure why they did it in New York. Truth is, the song is pretty corny and shouldn't be played anywhere outside of Boston.

One song I am surprised they didn't play there was "Fairytale of New York," which I have now heard them play twice and therefore expect to be in the CD that comes out in June. The part of Kristy McColl is played by Stephanie (I always forget her last name) who does the give-and-take on "Dirty Glass" with Ken Casey. Al sings Fairytale, though. Only thing is, being a Christmas song and all it was strange when I heard it in 98 degree heat last summer on the Warped anniversary.

And by the way, short paragraphs are fine. Ever read a newspaper? Fifty-word paragraphs are for text books and sophomore year term papers.

on a different note, this show was awesome- the tessie film was funny, everyone was laughing, especially when Jamie Hatebreed came on stage and started screaming Boston Sucks

Kids right, a healthy rotation in Chicago would slay any possible compitition. Unfortunately, I doubt that'll happen.

And while we're on a baseball tangent, what's everybody's thoughts on Barry Bonds? I think personally, he's a douche, but it's exciting that somebody in our lifetime is chasing the most prestigious record in all of sports.

I read somewhere that the new Singles Collection has a Nips cover on it..."Vengeance", I think. Someone said that Lars Frederiksen sings on it. Anyone know?

Unfortunately, Wood and Prior are likely gone for the season. I wouldn't trust Cubs brass to tell me the right time of day.

i agree with h2o starting out slow.. i saw them in jan and they just rocked it afterwards. they are coming back to rock. no more crap from them...hopefully..

H2O Kicked the Murphy's Ass! Dropkick Murphy's are becoming way too big and have lost their edge. The three new songs they played sounded like Smash Mouth. The Tessie shit took it over the top, not because they played it In NYC, but the song sucks so bad it hurts.
H2O on the other hand had real intensity. They attacked the crowd, the pit was much bigger than the Murphys. They even made the songs off GO sound good.
I own every Murphys album and seen them many times, but I'm done until they get a little more "old school hockey"

johnson/mussina/pavano/wright/brown is TERRIFYING

H2O's performance in Chicago started out slow, but got back to the speed at which I remember seeing them with Shai Hulud back in 2002.

Their live show slayed then and it slays now. Maybe H2O's new CD won't suck.

Is a review of DKM's "Singles Collection Vol 2" ever going up? It's been out for a couple of weeks now. Here's a short review: It fucking rules. It's mostly a cover album of old oi / streetpunk athems, stripped almost entirely of the Irish influence the Murphys have come to be known for the last couple of years. When I listen to it, I'm almost compelled to quit my job, shave my head, go straight to the bar and then smash up everything I see. But that could be just me.

Also, when's that H2O DVD / greatest hits CD coming out? I thought it was supposed to be around March?

i was at the sat show and was thoroughly bored

I saw H2O in January, and they started off slow then too. Literaly, they were playing the songs slower than usual. but they did warm up, and I remembered why they were so important to me when I was getting into punk.

As for the Murphys, the Singles Collection reminded me just how awesome they used to be. They need to get back to rockin'
