The first volume of what looks to be an annua-er, the beginning to an indefinite series of Skate And Surf DVDs highlighting the (formerly?) annual punk/emo/hardcore/etc. music event in New Jersey is fairly ambitious in spots but an occasional swing and a miss just the same. The disc compiles 23 videos from 13 bands with, despite its sparkling picture and isolated sound, produces rather mixed results.

Anonymous: here's your track listing - http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=110362& "painted male character on one of the Asbury Park buildings" - TILLY was painted on the recently torn down Palace Amusements building and was based off of a similar design which originated from Coney Island, NYC. People love that thing down here (in Asbury Park, NJ)...but I think think it sucks almost as much as Skate and Surf / Bamboozle events. Disinterested? Speaking of Dvds, y'all should check out the Michiganfest dvd, its awesome, tons of great bands, really well shot (except for the occasional cameraman in the shots), and the sound is really clear. Plus, some crazy shit happens too. Against Me!'s dvd is stellar as well. speaking of surf..... | Features
