Back WhenBack When: Celebration Of AlcesteCelebration Of Alceste (2003)Imagine It Reviewer Rating: 3.5 Contributed by: FortyMinutesWestFortyMinutesWest (others by this writer | submit your own) I'd never heard of this band before getting this EP, and now I'm not sure why. Celebration Of Alceste is a surprisingly original release. There are tons of bands who mix chaotic hardcore and metal, but Back When has a more intense feel than some of the other bands that seem to be going through the m.
I'd never heard of this band before getting this EP, and now I'm not sure why. Celebration Of Alceste is a surprisingly original release. There are tons of bands who mix chaotic hardcore and metal, but Back When has a more intense feel than some of the other bands that seem to be going through the motions. Although Back When wouldn't be out of place on the Robotic Empire roster, they show hints of a band developing its own sound on this disc.

haha, yea dude, where have you been? I was getting sick of just Anchors and Brian reviews. Great band, about time they got some national recognition. They've been playing in all kinds of good bands around the Omaha area for the last 6 or 7 years at least. I'm glad to see a review of something near grind on this site. Not to say I don't enjoy the others but it's always nice to read about a band like these guys who I havent heard of before when I really should have. from the two mp3s on the label site, the music is allright...but the vocals man the vocals. oh god the vocals. they are way too low and then in the first song it sounds like hes just doing random grunts...which sounds better on paper than it really is |

Check out the Swords Against the Father 7inch - best EP ever! Also, the new LP is pretty good, but not as good as their earlier stuff (so I say).
