I, as well as others I'm sure, are bound to question the release of an "odds and sods" collection of a band whose first full-length hasn't even seen the light of day. Sure, it was common for bands of their style in the early 80's, but that time it was also a feat to manage a full-length recording on such a low budget. These days, not so much. In another words, it's a practice usually reserved for multiple punk/hardcore bands like so who've made their name legendary despite a handful of vinyl releases all missing the 12" mark, but, like its most recent companion in Sick Of It All's B-sides/rarities retrospective Outtakes For The Outcast, the Distance's If You Lived Here You'd Be Home Already is tightly uniform in its set of straightforward hardcore tracks (most plucked from a short wealth of splits and 7 inches alike with two new songs and a few live numbers to boot), and pretty enjoyable despite such a short garden of material to pluck from.

No, no I don't. Nice job misspelling "Connecticut." think fast! records is pretty solid. i haven't listened to much from the distance though. Guitar work is fantastic. The lyrics seem a little whiny to me though. Not bad though. i just steal music from the internet.. but i will buy this so jay can get more ice. I really gotta hand it to jay and everyone else in tha D...these dudes are my boys and this album fuckin shreds!!! I can't say enough good things about this release... ridiculously intense songs w/ melodies that tie the songs together... and the best "Filler" cover around as far as I'm concerned. theres definitely alot of energy put into these songs. some of the lyrics seem from the heart, which is rare in music these days. this cd is in my "frequent play" collection..i dont leave home without it. jay's voice kicks my ass. This album is the best 23 minutes of hardcore that has come out in a while. The group as a whole have taken their writing ability up to the next level and has come out with something that is undoubtedly fascinating. There is no other words than can describe it. The combination of expierimental hardcore riffs, and Jay Reasons amazing vocals have really made an impact on CT hardcore. I definitly would have to agree with the article when it says "The Distance has picked up the torch where Carry On left off." The Distance is truely a gifted band, and I look forward to whatever else this band has to release in the future... This cd is in my cd player 24 hours aday, 7 days a week, Good job guys. good shit. theres alot of emotion poured into these lyrics. the cover is amazing. looking forward to seeing them live.
